I love re-reads of my favourite books. I recently finished re-reading Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and enjoyed it even more than the first read. She created such a believable and special world that makes it feel like an actual history rather than a fantasy.

Nicely done and very Christmassy! The older I get and now being on my own, I don't decorate at all anymore. It seems pointless since I would be the only one to see the decorations.🎄🎅🎁

Maybe it is just me but lately none of these new releases particularly interests me. I think they are meant for female readers primarily. I think I will stick with John Gwynne, Michael Connelly, and some other stuff that I relate to more.

Lots of new books! Do you plan to pick all these up or just a few? I find book releases this time of year tend to get lost in the pre-Christmas hype a little bit as reviewers and publicists are thinking of other things and potentially looking ahead to the flood of new books in the spring season.

I thought you were going to demonstrate a new speed reading technique!😂 I am with you blaming booktok. I have found so many modern writers are terrible and have no idea how to structure a story, yet they sell a crapload of books because of instant celebrity on TikTok.

Given the fact that I don't like horror books or movies, it will come as no surprise that I have seen exactly one of these movies which was the 1930s Dracula which wasn't that close to the book at all.🧛‍♂

Although, when I think back to my university days in the distant past, I pulled all-nighters to write essays or study.😪 You did accomplish quite a bit of reading though.

I thought of two others, the New Jersey Devil and Mothman. Both are definitely strange!

I used to love Black Forest cake. It was tasty but not scary.😂 Being deep in a thick forest can really creep you out so it's no wonder people come up with all these strange occurrences in them.

I hear good things about Blood Over Brighthaven from M L Wang. I also want to read her Sword of Kaigen but I have not got to it yet. That is the only book from the list I have heard of.

What about Amazon Canada print on demand? I just ordered a book on Amazon written by a booktuber in Belgium and it came to me in one day and it was printed in Alberta! That was interesting to see the process behind the scenes.

Happy Thanksgiving! I love corn but I don't eat it anymore since I went to a low carb diet (no bread, pasta, potatoes, or rice either 😄). The corn doesn't seem tall enough to make a good maze but still cool. Bring a sleeping bag and a flashlight and maybe they wouldn't notice if you stayed all night!😂

That Arctic book sounds good. If you like creepy Arctic stories check out Dan Simmons The Terror his fictional take on the missing 1848 Franklin expedition in Canada's north. It's brilliant!

I, too, am reading Frankenstein right now as part of a reading discussion on another channel. (Honest admission, I also watch other booktubers😂). I got into the habit of having a relaxing bath every night before bed for about half an hour and listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks. I find I sleep so much better as a result.

Spooky reads indeed! The Dead Children's Playground qualifies for the creepy cover alone.😱 I believe you are correct about the Woman in Black being a Danial Radcliffe movie (which I have not seen because I hate horror movies 😂).

I should not have doubted you, my bad. 😄Get some rest!😴 I am reading The Three Musketeers, as well as Alison Weir's Six Tudor Queens first book Katherine of Aragon The True Queen historical fiction.

I can never unhaul books. Well, I tell a lie because last week I took 8 books to a local used book store for credit. That was only because I had doubles or an edition I liked better. They might be the only books I have unhauled in years. I admire your iron will! That bookshelf you have is so nice with the doors to keep the dust out. I've just got some relatively cheap shelf from Amazon but they do the job anyway.
