Another technique I use is to associate an image with each sentence and I like to stay on theme so it sticks better.

I have a notepad in my head where I can write 3 to 4 lines at a time and maintain it for several hours until I write or type them down. Like after developing the first 4, I move to the second and third to create 12 bars. I wonder if I can ever write and hold a full 16 in my head in one recall or view.
