Digging for my new home Part 3
In this series of clips, you will get to follow me as I do the groundwork and digging for my new home.
In this clip, the focus is on terracing, laying that stone at the right level. When you lay out the stone, you want the larger stones (which are usually at the top after blasting) to end up at the bottom of the new level. This means that you simply have to turn everything around to get the optimal result.
When the level feels good, we run over it with a roller a couple of times. The level is then checked again and adjustments are made. Then you check the level again and so on until you are completely satisfied with the result.
Now that the digging is nearing completion, it is time to begin the foundation for my new home.
To be continued...
The songs are from Epidemic Sound. If it's not your jam, you're welcome to mute and watch with your own favorite playlist. Enjoy!
Thank you for watching! Subscribe to follow me at work✌️

In this series of clips, you will get to follow me as I do the groundwork and the digging for my new home. The excavated surface is where the house will be built. In this clip, the focus is on the blasting work. There are no houses nearby, but we still use specially made "mats" to cover the blast. These weigh approximately 1.5 tons each. We blast our way over the entire surface that needs to be...

Excavation for house

Here we do an excavation for a house. To begin with, we dig down to the bedrock, and all the topsoil is transported away, so that we can then drill into the rock and then blast. When the blasting is completed, all remaining blasted stone must be unloaded to make room for the house. This house will have a partially underground basement, where the deep part will be backfilled. The machine we use ...

In this video we are building a paddock, and to do this i use our Mecalac 12MXT, It's basically a big part of the pasture that is not grass or soil. This is to keep the horses dry and the pasture can be used all year round. In this video you can really see the "loader mode" in the mecalac. It really acts like a normal loader, and is perfect for this kind of job! I start by removing all the good...

Now when we are done with the boulder wall, we are building a smaller garden wall between the house and the coming garage. This wall is needed, because there will be about 60cm of height difference between the garage level and the house. We also built in some stairs to make the garage accessible. When the wall is finished, we do the drainage to the garage and level it off with gravel. At the en...

    I see no reason to remove the dirt from the road at first, just put the stones on top. The plastic is useless and is only a money maker for the guy doing the work.

    Why didn’t you use the paper on the last 100 yards of road because it looked really soft, I worked construction for thirty some years and we always it the paper down to stabilize the surface before covering with 407 or whatever customer wanted.

    I think YOU made a mistake........You should have completely filled in the GAPS on both sides of the NEW PIPE with GRAVEL , INSTEAD of laying those large rocks DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE NEW PIPE ! WHY......Because , NOW when heavy vehicles drive over the rocks , their weight is DIRECTLY Pressing on the NEW PIPE .......NOT GOOD !!!! MY way , the weight would have supported BY the gravel INstead OF the rocks !!! THINK ABOUT IT !!!!

    • @rasmushammarlof1164
      @rasmushammarlof1164 2 роки тому

      Hi Joe, Thanks for your input! But as you can se in the video, I just put the large rocks on the pipe to keep it in place in the stream while I fill the gaps and around the pipe with gravel. After the pipe is set and fixed in position I move the rocks and use them in the wall on each side of the road. The gravel is compacted and takes up the bigger part of the load 😁👍
