Accessories, gadgets, stuff, equipment, tools, toys, tackle, I love gear! My two favorite things are camping and electronics. Anytime I buy something I spend a crazy amount of time researching it thoroughly and I thought I'd share what I found out and my experiencing using gear with other like minded gear nerds.
Doss SoundBox XL Review
The DOSS SoundBox XL is a great option in you are looking to jump from the standard portable bluetooth speaker to a speaker with higher quality sound that is designed to fill a room with sound. It's got a very reasonable price to boot!

Take off the grill and remove the cloth in front of the drivers for improving the sound, also adjust sound on your cell phone to improve the sound.
I got my first one for $70 then just grabbed another for $60 . Excellent BT speaker for your buck. And you can run two at once through the more modern phones . Galaxy note 9 works great . Double trouble 😁
i just got one and the red charging light goes on for a few min then turns off? . it says its supposed to be RED charging or BLUE charged? is that right? no light is on now??
more visuals of the actual product are better, imo!
do you have auto-gain comp turned on in your zoom?
Thanks for the review. Did you test the speaker with playing videos regarding latency issues?
Some. The latency was fine to watch casual videos. I never sat down and watched a movie. I was always doing something else (washing dishes, cleaning) but the latency wasn't enough to disrupt casual watching.
@@bioslash Thank you
Thanks I’m going to DOSS website to buy this very one!!
mine doss i think lock of tweeter
It says you can use this with your phone. I can’t hear the people who call me on this. Should have I bought something else? Any recommendations? I want people to be able to hear me speak and I hear them speak using my phone. Any help?
There's no microphone in this speaker.

Does the doss soundbox xl have better bass than the jbl charge 4 on low frequency mode. Please answer...
I don't have the JBL Charge 4 so I couldn't tell you.
Its soundbox not sounbox..
If Doss would make an ipx7 certified version, and beefed up its construction a little, I would pay double to be able to take it to the beach, mountains, lake, pool, etc. Great review, great to see you evolve and create more great reviews. 👍
The best review about this speaker thanks!
hello guy, i have just bought mine for 53 dollars from aliexpress, this price is so low for the general quality sound made by this blutooth speaker, the best for me for the price it coast. i don't have any regret, the bass are incredible, the box is shaking with extrem bass, i love it
Good review 👍
What's the title of the music? :)
That's also my question
Download a good 4 slide EQ with a fifth for bass. It will solve bass fade at higher volume.
production quality is excellent.. great review
I just got it for $49
Where
@@bigtonyself amazon sale. Not sure what price is today. I got 2. I ended up sending both back. One the volume was way lower than the other. The other developed a buzzing rattly type sound. I ended up buying a fluance fi50 and omg that thing is amazing! $99
Score!
Doss soundbox XL is different model with Doss Soundbox DS 1685?
Nice review. I've had the Soundbox XL for about 6 months now. I'm in the UK, it cost £70, or approx $90 from Amazon UK. The thing I find with it is that positioning is the key. My room is slightly larger and after a lot of experimentation I find that it sounds at its best in a corner (on a shelf unit etc) at about head height. This seems to alleviate the bass loss issue to a certain extent. I play most of my music by streaming through Spotify premium which has a built in graphic equaliser so you can adjust the bass as required It would be hard to get better bang for the buck at the price.
You're spot on! I've noticed this about placement. I've got mine in my kitchen now and the location and size of the room effects the perceived volume as well as the amount of bass. I find that in the kitchen with so many hard services for the sound to bounce off of the bass overpowers higher frequencies when I'm not listening to music (e.g. watching UA-cam or Netflix).
What was the first song you played on the speaker? Thanks! Also, next time, can you try out some bass heavy songs for bassheads like me?
JBL EXTREME OR DOSS XL What will I feel through my desk more Want has better bass for vibrate
I just purchased this speaker for $59.49 and I'm very happy so far. I have several bluetooth speakers as well and this is my go to speaker when I want the best quality sound and nice authentic bass. Nice review.
That's a killer price for this level of speaker. I use mine almost every day (I put it in my kitchen).
Where
Who was disassemble this speaker? On the Amazon site there are old photos, on a subwoofer written 15w on, dynamic of 5W, the total power is 25W, who checked what dynamics install now? The manufacturer periodically makes changes now the representative of DOSS wrote to me that the subwoofer 12w, write here who checked personally ...
I can't speak to the power for each speaker but as far as the speaker layout you can see it if you shine a flashlight into the grill. You can even see some hints of speaker outlines in my video when I put the highlights on it.
Hi From Russia ))
Hi Russia, hope all is well......
Very nice Review!
Thanks! I'm hoping to find time to do more.
Nice review. I also love my Soundbox XL and found it the best sounding up to more than twice it's price. Compared it to JBL charge 3, some bose models, altec lansing onyx , Marshals, UE boom, etc.and it beats them all not necessarily in loudness but sound quality wise ,. specially on that insane low bass it produce.
It really goes to show you that some of those more expensive brand are probably charging too much to be truly competitive. On the other side I realize that a lot of those companies are doing the research and design and then some the smaller companies copy their design, speaker layout, and/or use the same components.
Yup, specially in China were proprietary rights is not observed, which in some ways is good for budget people.
