Do You Think AI Will Install Hardwood Floors Like This #diyflooring #flooringinstallation
So, im refinishing our original hardwood floors in a 90 ur old house. I sanded them, i saved the sawdust after i disposed of the stained and dirty sawdust, and now im just dying to put the finish on already. I'm at 120 grit. But, the floor i started in will be the baby's nursery, so, i definitely do not want gaps, and there are MANY . So, can i use the sawdust to make my own wood filler ? Also, how would i go about doing that? Also, how long do i have to wait befofe sanding and applying the finish ? I am doing this right very now, lol I'm COVERED in sawdust. (Don't ask , lol) this is my first time sanding anything. I was able to rent an edger and used diablo 12 grit and have wrked my way up, but by the time i had to return it, i bought a ridgid 6"orbital and have been using that ever since. I did do one coat of the finish, but i just sanded it , cuz everything I've seen and read says to sand after the first coat of finish. I guess i was hoping the finish eould fill the gaps in, it did in some areas but barely. So, i have no choice now but to figure out how to make my own wood filler and apply it and what to do after that in order to successfully apply finish. Oh, also, i was surprised at how much of the finish came off when i sanded today. I thought it would just smooth out the floor and take away some of the drip marks but instead it just seems to have taken the whole thing off lol which would be fine except im almost outof finish. I was thi king of mixing some of the finish with the sawdust in a cup and mixing with a popsicle stick and applying it with a trowl like ur doing here and then sanding with 220 (i don't have 240) i have 220, 320, and 600 in mesh sandpaper. PLEASE HELP ! I need this done ASAP ! I've got a bed coming in the mail and a baby already here and another coming in november. 😢
Yup until there is 3mm cakes of dried polish in all the corners next year
Bravo
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Oh Lord, the waste of time video. No instructions, nothing. Just stupid loud music.👎
Thanks
Welcome, for what?
WTF, you don't even show the LEDs
I was expecting this! I just installed the trim/ track for led lights finished the job and the electrician didn’t show up to connect the lights! Thanks for sharing
Super nice 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Good job
Thanks 👍

👍
Good job!👍
Doesn't this become a problem if the wood expands with the seasons?
All unfinished hardwood floors will have wood filler applied to fill the small cracks and gaps when they are refinished. If installed and applied properly it should not be a problem unless the gaps are bigger than 1/8 inch then it may become a “problem” with filler popping up/out.
So risers go over the tread? Or is it better to place risers first then the tread up against face of riser?
In this case yes because I didn’t put nails on the top board because I used glue only, the stair nosing I nailed it. So I put the risers like that so it holds down the top board. You can install either way as long you do perfect cuts!
Smh
What
No
Yeah
I don’t like how my voice sounds on the videos, that’s why I don’t speak to loud and to much 😎
Ți-e frică să vorbești mai tare? 😁
Sure 👍
Bona
Nope, Dura-seal oil based!
Set gauge
I’ll do that once I’ll get a newer better compressor.

do you take off the baseboards. put the same ones back on? how much labor is that? nice looking stain. i am 52 and i put a pre stain and stain on 800ft of 4 rooms tonight...i am BEAT!
Sorry for the late response!
Removing the baseboards depends on the costumer if they want to replace them with newer/different design/size. I believe you, refinishing and installing hardwood flooring it’s hard work! Thanks!
What’s the name for that scraper
I have to check the exact name, I think I got it from woodworkers store.
what exact brush is that
What brush you are talking about?
@@danielclassicwoodfloors i meant applicator pad
@@AKFloorcare it’s from Home Depot or Lowe’s brand Rust-Oleum oil based applicator pad, or hardwood floor supply store, some they sell that in 8” and 12 inches.
@@AKFloorcare “Water Wiz” Applicator Pad for water based finishes. I think was this one.
@@danielclassicwoodfloors thank you sir never saw either in alaska but i can try to order online. looks like it works great.
Wow
Unbelievable!
This is my first time seeing something like that! What do you guys think went wrong there?
👏👏👏👍🏿👍🏿
👍
What blade are you using in your grinder?
You wasted my time sir
I don’t believe you, check my next video 👍
Just a regular scraper with a razor blade?
The razor blade wouldn’t work. Wood scraper does the job👍
What can you do if the floors are already finished? I have some gaps occurring in my hardwood floors but they don’t need refurbished but need wood filler. What’s the best way to go about that?
Hardwood floors expands and contracts depending upon the moisture and heat inside the house. If you have only few minor gaps you can get/use wood putty for pre finished wood from Home Depot or Lowe’s applying with a putty knife and wipe it smooth with mineral spirit.
What type of wood floor you have?
@@danielclassicwoodfloorsI have white oak floors. Just some minor areas w/small gaps. Everyone says to refurbish them. Was thinking of using some wood filler since it’s only minor
Wow😅
Yuppie, happy day @woodwork👍
No bueno bro 😂😂😂 that crap stain laps bad.
Amigo it looks great, where is your imagination 💭 😩
The colors will not match
Why do you think that?
Now that's a shit show if you ask me. What was he going for, a spilled paint collage?.....
Thanks for the feedback. Distressed/Hand-scraped Wood Floors to change the look and it helps with the maintenance of the wood if you scratch it or stains from pets and ……
I don’t think it looks old. I think it looks like a bad stain job
That’s what the Interior Designer asked us to do and it does look good. It’s newly refinished and with the distressed marks looks a bit old. It helps to easily maintain the wood floor when you do scratches or stains from pets.
@@danielclassicwoodfloors I’m glad it worked out for you. It’s just not my taste. Looks like the quality of the work is good.
What. The. Fuck.
👍
Show us the finished product. It will look great
I will, but with so much negativity I might quit this job. Let them watch all the sh…..t on UA-cam and local channels. They will be looking at it like stupid people watch the same news!
What the hell did I just watch?

Disaster
It’s called interior design
Do what?? Put up stairs? Yes I’m not rich enough for elevators and hurt myself every time I try to fly
Whatever you want. Maybe, build your two story dream home lol. It’s easy for me to do great videos and amazing work in the same time. Thanks for the input.
@@danielclassicwoodfloors I don’t follow. You asked a question at the beginning of the video. It’s unclear what exactly you were asking so I’m asking you to clarify. When you said “would you do this” you’re saying you didn’t mean anything in particular ?
Question.! Sorry for my editing skills. Asking and saying in the same sentence! Grammar editing education it’s hard to get it when you don’t want. Sorry if you got it the wrong way!
@@danielclassicwoodfloors there’s nothing wrong with your editing skills and your work in the video is great, I’m just confused by what you were asking. It’s ok though no big deal. Thanks
Dumb af
Looks like someone took a dump on the floor
Have some imagination, it will look good when finished
Why tf are you puttying the wood floor??
You always put wood filler/putty when you refinish hardwood floors to fill the gaps!
I have so many questions. Why are you brushing it on?why did you only do wierd random areas instead of the whole floor? Why is that stain so thick? Why!
For what I’m doing it’s easier to apply with the brush I the deeper saw marks(distressed marks wood floor). When you buy a distressed hand-scraped wood floor it’s all random wood boards. The wood stain it’s a little thicker because it’s a new brand sold at Home Depot Varathane brand not like the regular wood floor stains Minwax or Duraseal.
Looks shit.
What the hell are you doing!?! Lmao it looks horrible...
My toilet paper looks aged and distressed
It’s time to get a new paper
No
It’s not bad
He is right, is not bad...is horrible.
Look what I learned online
Thanks for your feedback
You suck at flooring my guy. Get on my level
Thats cedar.
Correct great knowledge!
WTF whyyyyyyyyy
To change the look
@@danielclassicwoodfloors but it looks like you had an accident
@@danielclassicwoodfloorsu r doing the whole floor? It doesn’t look old. It looks like a mistake. I also see no pattern. Just streaks where someone spilled paint basically. Show us a similar finished product so we can chime in before you ruin this floor pls. I’m not going to sleep for weeks now
Looks ruined to me ..oh hell naw😂😂😂😂💯
You’re kidding?!
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm,NOOOOOOO
Oooo yes, it is looking amazing at the end 👍 thanks for your input
