I have to be honest, I am not sure because of the dredging needed. I know it did close for a while and then opened back up, but now-a-days I am not sure what is happening.

Hi. My friends and I beached the boat sometimes, and other times we just stayed out in the water.

But I have not been crabbing since this video many years ago, so do check whether you can launch out of our Marina because things have changed down there with dredging needed.

Thank you for your comment. The crime rate is extremely low out here. We just do not have crime like cities. We do have some break-ins, drug activity and some domestic violence calls by police that will exist everywhere. We do have a volunteer Crime Watch that you can put your house on when you are not there. Also, neighbors out here look out for one another. It really is a great place to live. I truly love it.

How's the job rate,and the house market! It looks nice!

The jobs around are service industry related, ie hotels and restaurants, but also construction related as well.The housing market is doing very well.

I am from Southern CA myself, and yes, there is rain and it is colder. But it is soooo much nicer and no traffic and easy beach access and cheaper prices for properties. So much more peaceful up here and not hot weather.

Totally understand. We're old and we ride big 4-strokes that are pretty much quieter than a lot of boats, but I agree that those 2-stroke stand-ups are super noisy and irritating. Thanks again and enjoy the lake life!

Thank you for your post. The skies are cloudy probably about half the year or less. We do have beautiful weather out here, even on the cloudy days.

The salt air can be harsh on your car. And if you go on the beach, make sure you rinse the undercarriage. I do not know of any treatments. So, I would just keep it washed and in a garage.

Moe Foe It is a nice beach town for a 2nd home and to retire. We do have full-time workers, but yes, it is tourist town with many small businesses. What we do need is a licensed electrician, plumber, tailor, painters, handymen, etc.

Yes, there are fish in the canals. I have seen people fish in the canals, and I have seen fish come to the service for food in the canals.

There are plenty of lots in Ocean Shores under $10K. You can camp up to 90 days per year. However, they average about 7,700-8,000 sq.ft. If you are looking for something larger, that is more difficult because the platted areas up the beach (the North Beach area) also have these same sized lots. Let me know if you would like more information.
