Guitar - compressor - Volante (as looper) - preamp - mixer w/2 42s in its Aux Sends. The clipping you hear is the comp and preamp analog saturation. Feed each delay to the other, just a touch, to create some x-feedback in addition to each one internal feedback.

That sounds like there's no other tone in the universe.....
Totally! The way resonating and gliding delays build up with the help of reverb makes it so dense, creating such a unique texture, like it completely fills the space in its own way. Thanks for sharing
Incredible sound!!! Are these two patches going in parallell or serial?
Answer is in the video.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hope you're well dear Italo ! Thanks for sharing these delightful harmonies ! And parts of your memories. Here's the light and sanctuary where we can come again and again in the merciless and at times so cold waves of this life. May we find peace in Music. There will be my grave too. Be blessed no matter what crosses your way. Just random words from an internet stranger, learning day by day to grow new leaves on top of ashes. Ahh! But music's there. Yeah. ✌❤❤🌠
Thank you stranger! It's all ashes around here... and the only leaves come from music. Had not music in my life I'd not be around. It's a merciless wasted land, tough as stone, cold as ice. Music forever. That's salvation!
great sounds! Orville cannot?
Thanks! Not sure if the Orville can do this.
Gotcha. I really enjoy your video😊
@@acid7188 Thank YOU!🙏

Informative, nice sounds and I like that ending sound to your website tag.
Thank YOU, Sir!
Informative
He makes the most amazing useful effects processor presets! Take a look at his website. A joy to work with if you’re a serious or wanna be musician! There is no comparison to rack and pedal board units no matter what you see on youtube. Go get a great deal on a classic lexicon or Eventide and get some presets from this guy. It’s really not that much more to carry around if you already carry an amp. Just a couple single 12 cabs a 6 space rack with a power conditioner a effects processor and room for a single space patch bay and a class D stereo power amp (Seymour Duncan) ad his glorious presets and do what the pros do for the sounds they get but don’t tell you how to. Nothing better in the world than wet dry wet with a real rack space processor.
I remember when these first came out, it seems they had some sort of mistake in the implementation that made the unit lose sales and it was eventually taken off the market. Was this problem ever fixed or resolved ? Was it all a blow up over nothing, or what?
I have no idea about what you describe. Lexicon released a second OS version for the G2 and the unit works great.
@@italoop7850 Can the original ones be upgraded?

Wow thanks! I’m gonna listen to this all day tmrw at work.
The best group, the best guitarist❤
That's so useful, thanks! Regarding your funny remark on laptop/phone speakers: they have become the ultimate test for my mixes.
Amazing mixes then!
What about the sounds we're hearing in the intro? There's a lot going on there and it sounds stunning - is that a single preset or a combination of different elements? I've got an Eclipse which I've loved but your presets lured me into snagging a great deal on an H7600... can't wait to get my hands on it along with your incredible sound design!
Jim, the intro track is not demoing the verbs. It's a combination of two presets, a factory one, "Hexentanz", created by evil genius Scott Gilfix and "Galaxy Border" I wrote for the Orville. All of these are on the later H units too. Here's the original video with this powerful combo: ua-cam.com/video/sCaP1UYz5Xc/v-deo.htmlsi=d--IpOkUV4FLF6yZ ENJOY!
@@italoop7850 you are the man. Thanks so much Italo. I've been meaning to do a video on higher-end outboard processing in 2024 (especially for synths & pop production)... once I get situated and get your patches loaded, I'll be sure to highlight those on my channel and link to your work ;-)
@@JimDaneker THANK YOU, Sir!
Wow, really a substantial difference. Made me think of trying to feed the PCM81 from my digital mixer through the S/PDIF at 48 kHz.
I'm not sure I'd go that way. A mixer outputs a whole mix and the PCM80 isn't exactly a device I would use on a whole mix. Works fine on a single channel/track. But if you can choose what that S/Pdif will send out.... The whole point here is a bit different though, trying to prove how the analog input section of these FX devices can be VERY important in creating the sound character of what you hear. I wouldn't bypass the PCM analog input stage, unless you really hate it (and I don't!) and want to have the most pristine, clean, cold as an ice cream up the dark hole characterless signal.
@@italoop7850 Sure, my mixer allows me to route an AUX Bus to the S/PDIF though... ;-)
Can you Track the lexicon in or have to use it as post processing?
You can do whatever you want with the 300 or any FX processor.
@@italoop7850 I’ve been trying to use mine tracking in but it has a little delay, I guess cause it’s fully wet? idk how to adjust the dry signal. Or how I would set it up as an effect pre before my amplifier
pcm42 hands down. still ubeatable!
Nice track. Bravo...
Very well done video!! I really liked the eclipse !
The 81 was more accurate but I preferred the Eclipse overall. Really need some good headphones to tell too much of a difference overall though.
I have a similar feeling. Thanks for posting!
the king might still be the Korg ! Lexicon Vortex has 3d modulation delay very nice, for me the Pcm80 is warmer more 3d than the more transparent Pcm81. Pcm80 is my favourit, Prime Blue preset and adjust for that super delay and massive chorus delay reverb Lexicon sound
Different things.... not what this video is about!
@@italoop7850 yes you are right, sorry i was just sharing my 2cents :-) ... imo , the Pcm80 just sounds better weither it's the preamp on board (or the 24bit of the 81 that made it less good) , i don't know.... my point is the delay in that preset "Prime Blue" has that modulating 3dness (or it feels like it does) and has that magic Lexicon
@@smartti1970 Yeah. That PRIME BLUE is the greeting preset on the 80/81. The first one hears when powering on the unit for the first time... and it does it job with its strong signature sound AND the Soft Knob leading to different balance of chorus/delay/reverb. It really shows off the PCM. Now, back to the 42. As you notice the difference in conversion between the 80 and the 81, imagine the 42 with 12 bit converters. That's light years back in time, with all sorts of imperfections, compared to current tech. And the way those old delays worked, with analog filters, analog LFOs whose sample rate was shifted to get pitch modulation and time compression/expansion, analog feedback and what not... That stuff is simply no longer available on DSP based machines. They just can't get that sound. It's like a 50s car and a currente e-car. They won't ever drive and feel the same.
Hi, italoop! Can I get the same quality sound on H9000? Is there any essential difference between 8000 and 9000? Thanks!
The H8000 sounds much nicer! Warmer, fuller, less digital....
I get a nice sound with my Korg SDD 2000 delay by overloading it ,also I love my Yamaha D5000 delay. They are a real sleeper that create reverb out of delays.
Old converters (Korg) and sample rate modulation DO actually create that reverb_like space. Hard to replicate for DSP based machines !
Same here with SDD-3000 rack… wish I’d bought more of them … 😏
The 8000 is the most digitally sounding to me. The 81 sounded the second closets but the 42 still has something special to it. Nice video
Beautiful music! Deserves 1000 times more listeners!
To my ears the best 1 eventide h8000 fw 2 eclipse 3 pcm 81 4 pcm 42
Do you use this as an insert or send/return?
Parallel Auxes on an analog line mixer. Never as an insert!
italoop you need to collab with DSP developer to bring your talent outside of the old hardware units. as current algorithms allows it
One day.....
bravo, complimenti! Keep up the great sound design!
Thanks Paul!
This may sound uneducated of me, but I liked the “dry” sounds better (except for the ECHOREC maybe). Edit: and ENO HALL 😊
Then you just like unprocessed dry sounds. Not a reverb problem.
Any for the D5000 yet?
Nope! Not easy to find one around.... but keep the faith! One day!!!
sounds ethereal great . one question please : i just received a pcm 80 lexicon but can't seem to find the circular delays or any ping pong delay . Do you know how to get them ? thks a lot

Ciao Italo, per avere un controller ai piedi (…) di mpx1 devo avere R1 oppure con Behringer fcb 1010 si può? Avevo una midione glx10 e mi provoca ritardo , oltre a nn riuscire a controllare i parametri …. Grazie
Ciao. Puoi usare qualsiasi controllore MIDI perchè è uno standard. Ma devi stare attento a cosa vuoi controllare e come... verificando che il controllore sia in grado di fare tutto ciò che vuoi.
The great Abercrombie ! You remembered me to listen to him ! Thanks for sharing !
Great stuff really enjoyed the music.
Very nice Italo..That was one of the 1st tunes I learned many years ago that taught me how to feel music as I allways liked that Miles Davis album with a whole side of MFV. ua-cam.com/video/XdrAzpYdOYs/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks Robert! Miles is God... and Herbie isn't bad at all...! Trying to play music with a connection inside myself, life, things and people. That's the hard part that makes sounds true. Joy, pain, sorrow.... be able to express those. Must be an age thing....
❤
Wow very very tasty stuff. Worlds away more character than Tech-21 but that’s probably the point.
I think I see now why you use the damn SansAmp for some stuff after hearing that glorious Marshall steal the show.
Hey Billy!!!! Hope you're well!!!
Very welcome addition Italo! From the sound clips I've heard of the PSA, I think of it along the lines of direct-to-desk and LA Studio cleans. But for edge of breakup and beyond, my ears always prefer tube amps over solid state. Just my taste. The opening tone on the neck pickup is delightful. Don't know what more you could ask for. I look forward to more guitar recordings from your fx libraries with this amp.
Thank you very very much. Tubes are just what truth is...voltage modulated by a human, touching the strings with many different physical energy degrees coming from how he perceives and feels the musical expression in that moment. And that produces so many shades and colors with the most pleasant harmonic content. From the heart of the player to the ear of the listener the amount of flow of human things is what happens. Maybe I am going too deep in this, maybe not but I'm sure those who have dwelled on a string with different touches do know what I mean. Going back to respectful silence....
