I can't really bring myself to like Madarame, even though I usually find toxic relationships in media pretty interesting to read about. The age gap between him and Towa isn't as large as the one with Taku, but Madarame did make his advances on Towa a lot sooner, back in the gang when Towa was around 16 or so... which means Madarame would've been 29-30 at the time 😭 that alongside how he treats Towa during his route just makes the ending where he convinces him to abandon his friends and run away with him feel kind of... intimidating? Like he was planning to distance him from the others all along

Sorry for the weird question, but may I ask about something involving the religious themes in Maggot Baits? Would you say that the game is condemning religion/Christianity as a whole, or more so the people who perform evil acts in the name of their religion? I'm a fan of religious themes in media and am curious in which direction it goes in. And sorry if you answer this during the spoiler part of the video.

I'll have to disagree with u fundamentally on account of what souls like game is and what it aught to be This game is a good stand alone but when associated with a true souls like game ...its a hideous stain to say the least

Hey thank you for making this video. I found out about this game like two days ago and have been looking for more information about it. The usage of footage from the game itself, especially with the text, while talking about the content and themes of the game was really what I'd been looking for! It's helped even out my knowledge of what I'll be running into exactly. I think this is definitely one I'm going to grab and read. Though I still need time to decide on if I should start with this one, Dead End Aegis or Gore Screaming Show first...

god i love NTR content that's a total emotional gutpunch like this. it's not a trope i'm personally super into in That Way but it's really conductive to interesting stories like this from what i've seen-- i like games that make me feel things, and sometimes that thing is despair. the art is really nice too, i like how the artist does the eyes on the heroines

I love this game, they did not hold the reality of a cruel world. Betrayal? Rape? Murder? Anything that's merciless, you name it. And it's there.

The guro is what hooked me in, but the amazingly written story and themes was an amazing bonus.

Once you said hope was an underlying theme I turned off the video. I will give it a shot and come back to finish the video at a later date.

Playing another JRPG right after Demons Roots taught me that it really makes or breaks a game. The battles, especially the stronger boss battles later on felt so epic with Shade's music and even the grinding I did to take down the bonus bosses on the second and third run was rather enjoyable with it while the JRPG I'm playing now feels a lot less so even without grinding. It really needs more praise honestly!

Definitely should do a second run for the extra bosses that only appear after 1 clear if you want the real challenge. There's a short new side story with 3 'familiar to some' bosses, one of which is the regarded as the strongest boss in the entire game, 1 extra optional boss in the main story and a powered up version of the final boss, which I personally felt was the hardest after finding out the intended way to beat the "strongest boss", through they were both still very tough, making me use a like 15 party full revive items total despite not using a single normal revive item the rest of the 2.5 runs I did. Should do Kings Exit before the second run though.

TL;DR: Stella is awesome, for the price you get a compelling story, 4h~ worth of reading. Get Dem feels man. I finished Summer Pockets and I got this feeling that it wasnt really that great, perhaps it was my bias since I played Clannad and Little Busters when I was a more younger VA/Key hardcore fan. Dont get me wrong, It was good and enjoyable and the islamon this is awesome but it didn't hit me with the "key magic" I felt for example when I finished After Story. So I got Stella recommended by steam and since it was cheap and a KN ( no routes or endings to care about) I decided to play it... I finished in a single session. Its so good. It feels like a train going slow at first and then picking up pace but never slowing till the end. The ost is superb and the VAs killed it. Theres not that much of a bg variety in the visuals but the art style enhances the feeling, its raw, pale and matches so well with the wolrd setting. The best part tho? Finishing reading and then going back to the start screen while "Beginning" is playing and you are recalling what you just read... Oof, low blow there key. Haven't felt that way since perhaps Rewrite.

This game is PURE CINEMA.

Lily's arc is so beautiful. Overall this game quite the work of genius that is the Black Souls series but it's still impressive storytelling.

I'm intrigued. I would have said I'm sold, but I'm having trouble finding a way to purchase the VN. A quick search claims that it's available on Mangagamer, but when I looked there, it wasn't true. I checked on GOG since I managed to find Dead End Aegis there, but neither this nor Steam or any other big name retailers appear to stock it. Any advice?

I didnt like Gahkthun, too much action and Sakurai is terrible at action. Best parts were character drama. Sona nyl was great though, the game could have been a drag if it was mostly underground but the surface and interlude sections really build compelling intrigue that works with how riggedly each Chapter is structured.

Mizusawa kei has over 700 vn credited roles. This is unbelievable when you consider how many hours of dialogue per game it is, especially Sona nyl with its voiced thoughts/narration. Also was Usami Haru, Minakami yuki, 2 girls in Dies Irae. Imo best actress/seiyuu of all time. Love how mellow- cute her voice is too.

Dude are you some kind of jrpg guru??! All your recommendation Black Souls, Demon Roots and now Dark Hero Party was GREAT! The final battle with thrash is really the highlight for me, Imos CG portrait in that battle was chef kiss! The only thing I can complaints is that it short. Even in hard mode its only 10 hours. Will be waiting again for your next game review. Demon lord simulator is A+!

I really liked Imos more than the usual JRPG protag just because he always tries something whether it's pathetic or not while also not being the smartest guy, he is not lazy (even though he says that he is). Aina is the best ever. thx for the info on the game, was a pretty fun read.

Sakurai's a very talented writer, but sometimes it doesn't mesh with me. I loved Gahkthun, btw. The Alice in Wonderland inspiration is the most obvious I've ever seen it here, but I'm not too familiar with The Wizard of Oz. I'm sure you're right about Mao being similar to the Cowardly Lion, but she always screamed Cheshire Cat to me. Always sneering and vague. Good job on this.
