❤❤❤ the children made this video great.
are these bikes made in the USA?
I believe this one was made in Taiwan.
I bought this exact bike 3 months ago, for just $50! It did need new inner tubes, a front derailleur shifter, shorter stem, and lock-on grips - all from Amazon, for an upgrade cost of $47, keeping the total cost just under $100.
It is a great bike. Enjoy it!
Do you have a link to that Chain stay protector decal?
Yes, it is from Aliexpress. I will look it up post below.

The handlebars are set up wrong again 😢
Thanks for the heads up.
Good job and amazing bicycle 👋🏻ciao da Milano Italy
Grazie mille!!!
You would want mini-V brakes if you want to run linear pull with short pull levers. But you figured that out. As long as the caliper brakes you installed work well, you’re good to go.
Thanks for the comment and suggestion. It is working ok but I will look further into mini v-brakes.
Parabéns! Excelente trabalho!
Obrigado!
Really nice
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice Job!!!😃
Thanks! 😄
I hope to see some upgrades to the DiamondBACK... <SUBSCRIBED
Thanks for the comment. I sold the Diamond Back.
I may get another one in the channel in the future.
Very nice 👍 I just got one like it, fits so good...
Thanks!
every saved GT is a good bike
I agree. This is my second GT. Both are great bikes. I have been riding my other GT for 13 years.
In my neighborhood we were split almost down the middle except for one kid who had a Trek Antelope I believe it was called, between GT and Schwinn. This was back when both brands were premier bike brands. My brother and myself both had Schwinn High Plains MTN bikes I believe they were called? I think mine was a 1990 and his was a 91 or maybe it was 91 and 92... I'm not exactly sure on the years. I had saved up my paper route money and my brother got his for his birthday and although his was a gift and mine was me saving up for months to get I was really happy he got one too so he was able to ride on the trails with me as well! Once my dad realized how much better they were then any bike that you could pick up at Kmart or at any other dept stores he would rather pay the extra money for something that was going to last instead of having to constantly fix a cheaper bike! I believe I paid right around $400 for my Schwinn High Plains that had a chhromoly frame, Shimano rapid fire 21 speed(this was a huge deal as most Nikes had 10 to 12 speeds), quick release front, rear, and seat. Front suspension was just coming out and I believe the only brand available was rock shox and they cost more then I paid for the bike itself and were pretty clunky yet! It also had quick release cantilever brakes which were also a huge upgrade from previous bikes I rode. I wish I still had the frame and forks because I would of loved to rebuild it and upgrade it. My brother stripped all the good parts off of it when I was away at college! 😠😡🤬
Super cool! I love that you got your kids involved in the process.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, they enjoy the process and are learning a little bit along the way.
Great Idea to record in to languages!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!
Nice paint Job! Great colors!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment.
You did a wonderful job! Colors look great together. Growing up in the 90's any kid would be incredibly thankful to have a bike like this. Rather than riding there sister's (or brother if fortunate enough) hand me downs. Lol
Thank you for your comment! I grew up in the 80s / 90s. There were some kids that had bmx bikes with mixed color parts. That was my inspiration. I just took it one step further with the frame and suspension paint job.
The woke Ness is killing me that kid sees SS and automatically thinks of Naz wtf he learning in school ! Chevy is made an SS forever
I agree. I love cars as well. I love those Chevy SS versions and never thought of nazis.
🇪🇦🇺🇲🫡 pedalea fuerte en las cuestas arriba ☝️🏋
Gracias!
This must be a15" frame? I have the 13" trek 4500 with the wheels and forks from a specialized hard rock comp 140mm crank from a folding bike and a bottom bracket of a fixed gear bike. I lot of donner parts . New hybrid tyres, it's cheap runaround bike . Your build looks great .
Thanks for your comment.
The handlebar isn't set right. Those ztto brakes are very weak, get some cantilever ones if you intend to ride this bike.
Thanks for the comment! I would appreciate further insights on the handlebar setup. The cantilevers don’t match the lever’s pull rate. I need a C caliper. If the Zitto’s don’t work, I may need to try a different brand.
@@frugalcyclists cantilever brakes and c-brakes have the same pull ratio, only v-brakes are different. I think the straddle cable wasn't set right on those canti brakes and the pads didn't have all the shims they should have. Handlebars should be turned more forward, so that the drop ends are nearly horizontal, that also brings the hoods closer to the rider (if you move them up, obviously). Also, drop handlebar width doesn't affect stability much, but for best comfort it should match shoulder width.
Nice build and i ran in to the break issue too .. cantaliver have a short pull ratio vs V-brakes requires a long pull lever ...
Yep! Thank you for your comment.
when it doesn't work, grab the drill and make it work! nice job.
Yep! :) Thank you very much for the comment.
v -brakes won't work with brifters without a problem solvers. i would of done canti's and left the pedals alone.
Thanks for the comment and suggestions!
Epic build guys what a transformation well done youve both done a fantastic job 👌👍🚵
Thank you very much for the support!!!
Fantastic job on that bike mate look real smart 👌👍
Thank you very much!
nice job ! That frame is sooo not a Litespeed. The gusset on down tube looks more like perhaps a Jamis.the shaping of the down tube and the cable routing tells the tale in the end, or a serial number. just a guess as I sold bikes at a shop in the 90's and all of my 16 frames are 90's 26 inch wheel hard tails.
Thank you very much for the comment and the information. I am still curious about the brand. I haven’t found anything yet.
Nice job. Did you clear the frame.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I applied a couple of layers of clear coat.
Awesome, great job
Thank you very much for your comment!
hey - nice job! looks great.
I am glad you liked it! Thank you very much for your comment!
Did it the paint job chip easily or hold up like an original?
Thanks for the comment. It is not like original. For that you need to use K2 clear coat. But you have to be careful and use a respirator as it is harmful to your health.
You gotta get some clear shots of the bike. Looks good.
Thanks for the comment. I will remember that for my next videos.
It's either a 2002 or 2003 Norco Mountaineer or Scrambler....know the shape of those bikes and color scheme.
Thank you very much for the comment. I will look for images of Norco Mountaineers.
I was thinking jamis from the gusset and downtube forming but nwo that i see your comment it explains the black in front but not the sticker at bottom of downtube.
Very nice project and result, but above all, you are blessed in your life with your Family, Greetings.
Thank you very much! Greetings to you as well, Luis!
❤❤❤
Thank you!
Pretty neat build! I love these 29’s. Would you also build motorcycles? I have an old Yamaha XS650 sitting in my garage a couple of years….
Hahahahaha! Let’s do it!!!!!
They're attacking this video hard. I think age restriction is about the Syrian orcs story.
Thank you very much for the heads-up. I would appreciate if you could provide me with more feedback. I haven’t seen attack comments yet.
Keep doing the things you love do, nice video.
I appreciate that! Thank you very much!
Iove the video 😊
Thank you very much, Thiago!
Nicely done! Love the eager and excited apprentice! Really nice looking bike, now a very well equipped bike. Can't wait for a video of Mr. Red Jersey putting the bike through its paces.
Thanks, Eric. He is already riding it but he is starting on mountain bike. I will have to get a video of him riding one of these days.
Hope both of you have many of this moments, nice work and nice video.
Yes! Thanks for the comment!
Lessons that will last a lifetime. great video
Thank you very much!
It is nice to see regular bike builds
Thanks for your comment, Jason. I will try to mix up regular with more complex bike builds.
Awesome job ! I have a 21 inch just like it, same year. The rear end of those frames are so pretty .
Thanks for the comment. I agree. I will make another video on this bike with an upgrade soon.
@@frugalcyclists I await your new content. Cheers and thank you for the reply.
Excelente!!
Gracias, Nicolas!
Wonderful!
Thank you very much!
The brand is Litespeed. I have it when i child (1994)
Thank you very much for the comment. I will look it up.
Litespeed did not make an aluminum frame like that. they made titanium frames. some road bikes were Ti/carbon.
Paintjob turned out awesome
Thank you very much!
