We’ve had KIDDE my whole life, only had an issue once when they went out of service (over 10 years old). Maybe we have a premium version of KIDDE? But ours also work pretty well-burned food in the oven once. It let off a nearly invisible cloud of black smoke that was incredibly tiny, and it set them off. However, they didn’t go off again once the smoke was fanned away from the alarm. The one in this video definitely seems off…

if the smoke detector doesn't have americium, which is why it's so cheap, then the smoke detector won't smoke detect because the americium emits alpha particles, which ionize the air inside the detector, allowing a small electric current to flow. when smoke enters the chamber, it disrupts this current, triggering the alarm. thanks, Google AI! love this video since I'm a destroyer and you're just destroying a smoke detector.
