how to remove cigarette lighter socket | Hyundai
#cigarettelighter #hyundaielantra #automotive
To remove the cigarette lighter socket from a Hyundai Elantra, follow these steps:
1. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the trim panel surrounding the cigarette lighter socket. Be careful not to scratch or damage the surrounding surfaces.
2. Once the trim panel is removed, you will see the cigarette lighter socket itself. It will be attached to the vehicle with a wiring harness.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness by wiggling , pressing the tab or release button, and pulling the harness away from the socket.
4. Use a socket remover tool so you can pull the cigarette lighter socket out of the dashboard or center console
5. Inspect the socket for any damage or wear and replace it if necessary.
6. To install a new cigarette lighter socket, simply reverse the steps above, making sure to securely attach the wiring harness .
7. Test the new cigarette lighter socket to ensure it is working properly before reattaching the trim panel.
By following these steps, you should be able to easily remove and replace the cigarette lighter socket in your Hyundai Elantra.

    I have 2 cig lighter.. one works the other not.. what could be?

    • @fixing.automotive
      @fixing.automotive 7 місяців тому

      Some common causes : The 2 cig lighters may have separate fuses , a blown fuse . The wiring for the non-working cigarette lighter may be damaged or disconnected. The cigarette lighter itself may be faulty and need to be replaced. There may be a problem with the vehicle's electrical system that is preventing the cigarette lighter from working properly.

    oh god, pls don't misinform people. A car sits there for a week won't be drained all the power. If that is the case, something wrong with the circuits or battery, go get it fixed and that has nothing to do with kill switch. Kill switch can protected a car from being stolen

    • @fixing.automotive
      @fixing.automotive 8 місяців тому

      Ur right a vehicle battery shouldn't be drained in a week unless there's a problem . Other than protecting the vehicle from being stolen or unauthorized access, a kill switch also used if the vehicle catches fire ,It will disable the fuel pump , ignition system, and all circuits, which might help , also a kill switch can be used as a battery disconnect switch to protect the battery from drainage when vehicles are not used frequently or are stored for long periods of time
