Very beautiful clowns!!
how do you find this tank quality compared to ADA or UNS? congrats on your aquarium!!!
@@spalacioh I’ve never owned those brands. But I have a water box and you can tell they are most likely made in the same factory. Bascially identical
The lipstick 🤦🏻♀️
rest in peace blue wrasse
Is this the landen 72.2 gallon ?
It’s the 50 gallon! 39.5x17.7
Loving the tank … the fish and corals look great
Please remove the Frag plugs off the coral kills the great rock scape
Ideally they will be overgrown by the coral! Just takes some time
Wrasse is so cute
Are these aggressive cichlids?
In my experience not really, when raised with community fish I never had much aggression at all
Optical refractometers need to be calibrated with standard saltwater solution (sg 1.026, available from multiple reef stores, like BRS) not sterile freshwater. It’s just like a pH meter in that you need to calibrate to the liquid you’re trying to measure, saltwater for a reef tank, not freshwater. Don’t know why Amazon refractometer would come with instructions to use sterile water to calibrate 🫣
Hey buddy I just bought myself a Landen 90p tank an was under the impression that it is tempered glass. Lmao. After u purchased myself a prodigy overflow for a sump I had planned. Anyways long story short I was informed that it was tempered But now I’m seeing your tank an it looks drilled. My tank is a Landen 90p 48gallon with ultra clear glass(an I’d love to be able to drill the sucker to use a sump instead of the fijicube aio diy I already installed but I’d def uninstall it if it’s not tempered
Btw the Tanks looking nice buddy
Hey man! I am under the impression these are not tempered. I was able to drill 2 holes without any issue. I’m not sure why Amazon says they are. If these were tempered panels I think it would have shattered in the drilling process
do u have cherry shrimp?
Are you talking about the freshwater kind? I do not. Currently just saltwater tanks
Did you drill the back for the overflow? I can’t find much on these tanks if tempered or not
I did drill it yes, these are low iron glass tanks so not tempered. Most if not all rimless tanks should not be tempered
I have a couple shrimp too and yeah they’re really annoying
I miss my EBJD. He was like 7-8 inches when he died. I should have made a gyotaku image of him.
I have one more left and he’s pushing 8 inches.. I think he’s getting to his end as he has become a lot more lethargic
*PromoSM* 😚
Great looking tank and scape. With time and patience you'll have it all under control. Good luck 👌💯✌️
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
Be care with the GSP keep them on an island and don't let them on the main rocks if you don't want them to take over everything. They look amazing but I personally would never put them in any tanks.
The tank is still in that ugly tank phase they all go through. I my self would have waited a bit to put corals in but it's really up to you. My last tank I started from scratch I think I waited 6 months before I put corals in. Just add a good cleaning crew and you will be good.
Hermits are amazing for GHA
Looking forward to meeting the timini tang
phosphate seachem
the decal is easily removed with a razor for a cleaner look :)
If considering a tang for algae control, Convict tangs are reliably effective at doing that.
Thanks for the idea!
Mybe try some tangs and hermit crab my dude to manage the ugly stage of a new tank, have patience Man always harder to start a new tank with dry rock instead of live rock. You have challenging times for a couple of months, but it’ll be worth it,no pest, rock design, looks good. Lots of places to put coral heaps of room for flow
35 Year Reef Keeper and Shop Owner here. Yeah you have some issues alright. looks like a tank that has been setup for less than 3 months to me. Also don't ever siphon your sand bed or substrate in a saltwater tank. Its alive! When you siphon the substrate you turn it over and kill a lot of bacteria that will start the nitrogen cycle all over again. One reason for hair algae is high nitrates, poor spectrum of lighting, or keeping your light on for too long. Get yourself a tang and some emerald crabs. Do 20% water changes weekly. Reduce how many hours the light is on, also make sure the tank doesn't get any natural sunlight that can feed the algae. And get a protein skimmer. That is the only mechanical filtration I use on any saltwater tank. I have a sand bed of least 4-5 inches with a layer of sand on the bottom and crushed coral on top. You definitely need some reef cleaners in there. Also check your calcium levels for good purple coraline algae growth. When you see that start to grow that is a sign of a healthy tank. And quite honestly the first 6 months of any saltwater tank is its ugly phase. Move your polyps to the live rock so they can propagate to them also.
Thanks for the suggestions! not siphoning the sand just the algae off the sand bed. All of my Ca Ma AK levels are in check so just working on getting nutrients balanced out 🙏🏼
Hi fella, I have a video that has changed the way I view algae issues. Il basically it's about reef ecosystems and allowing a diverse ecosystem to take care of algae. It's been super helpful for me. ua-cam.com/video/QenPdCT7-KE/v-deo.html
Do future plans include a star fish
To keep the aggression down I recommend more congos and more angels😊
Hey If youre still checking this channel can you update us on the electric blue jack? If it were alive it would be about 7 years old by now and there's little to no examples of an electric blue jack dempsey on youtube.
He passed this month :( I believe 8 years old!
@@idofishtanks oh no I'm so sorry to hear that, but 8 years is a very good healthy age for any jack, let alone an electric blue! You clearly took very good care of him.
@@FathomAquatics yes hopefully in the future I will have another :)
I see your tank doesnt have a top cover. Doesn't the red tail shark jump out as I read that they are very skilled jumpers?
Never have seen this but it’s possible, I like lids, the bala sharks have jumped out before
Parabéns pelo canal, eu também tenho um canal de peixes ornamentais.
How big is it?
How is the second Eblue jd??
hello beautiful aquarium. Could you tell me the name of the three identical ones that you have that are half of one color and half of another color. I like them a lot and would like to get them.
Congo tetras
@@unc3306 thanks
a fantastic video. My name is Alex, I have a Spanish-speaking aquarophile channel, and I would love to be able to use some images from your video, of course your name would always be at the top of the video and also a link to your channel in the comments box. If you don't agree, nothing happens. For me it would be a pleasure, I await your response, A very strong hug, mate
Hey man, I got a 3 inch electric blue about a week ago. He is glass surfing like crazy but will still eat. I'm wondering if you had the same issue when you got yours? Tank has been cycled for around 2 years and parameters are great: 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite and like 20 to 40ppm nitrate.
how is he doing now?
@@alfredinyy he's doing really good now and eats like a pig.
How’s the EBJD ? Still living?
What do u feed your (electric blue jack Dempsey)?
Like the lighting what kind is it?
Wow this is amazing, I'm considering getting a Red Tail Shark and a EBJD myself. was trying to figure out how do-able it would even be.
Should be fine I keep mine with all sorts of community fish. I have 2 now both 6 in + and don’t mind being handled and hand fed
You just never know. My red tail which was smaller actually killed my electric blue Dempsey, had plenty of tank space and hiding spots as well. I'm not trying to be a pessimist here, It obviously can work out and looks to be going quite well in this tank! 👍
2021 update?
Will do, I’ll set my camera up this week
Update?
Will do, I’ll set my camera up this week.
Do you grow any pothos in any of your tanks??
Oooooo 😍😍😍 i have a betta in my 120 community tank! I love seeing bettas who get to live life!!
What's that really tall one in the back you said grows fast?? 🙂
water wisteria
I just got my first Electric Blue Jack Dempsey 💙!! He is my absolute favorite of my cichlids. I know this is an old video but are you responding to questions yet??
Happy to answer any questions
What is your gh & kh? I want to find more information but everything online contradicts eachother lol. Also what does your baby look like? I'm worried I got ripped off and got a regular baby not an electric blue
Is he dead now ?
@@yunge9482 nope thriving
Jess Monroe sorry I have been off this channel for a while. honestly I don’t track water parameters at all, my PH is high as I live on a well in Florida, glad to hear your Dempsey is doing good.
Yours is a female I believe. When I read about them the males have longer flowing tips and the females are more round
You think an ebjd will be fine with discus in a 125 gallon? Thank you
If you raise it with them I would think so or introduce it properly with good cover, I keep 2 with plenty of fish and have minimal aggression
Is the electric blue jack Dempsey still going okay? People say they just randomly die
Still alive and well (:
