The generic Chinese ones are Okay for broadcast listening. But they are considerably noisier than the PA0RDT whip, for example. All mini-whips are poor, relative to a good quality amplified loop system such as the WellGood (not WellBrook, which is no longer made).

Typically, there's a gain block IC, like ADL5544. If chinese guys made PCB layout without mistakes, and took not so shitty FR-4 - everything must be ok, in range of datasheet values of course.

Just measured my other 10watt 40dbm and that was 100 ohms

just measured mine that I just received. Mine is 95 ohms supposed to be 40dbm 10watts on my sticker

you need to terminate the attenuator output with 60 ohms before you measure the input.

It is unfortunate that the junk still seems to flow from the trash bins onto the market, but at the prices paid, you can recycle the parts into something usable, in most cases. I have rebuilt several mystery devices into usable pads and terminations over the years, and the sad part is, I should have labeled them better. Markers seem to fade and rub off over time, and if you don't use them often, you can forget what they were originally for! Now that I have a sensitive VNA and Spectrum Analyzer, having a good attenuator to protect the input from too much power is very important! And I am glad I never threw away the ones that were out of spec, but saved them for their parts!
