Littlepoint Wharf, our small and basic wharf shunting micro-layout, attended its last exhibition before being modified into a different layout in the future. We now look onwards to shows at Stamford and Sleaford this year with a new layout, "Towngate". This video contains clips of Littlepoint as well as footage of a few of our favourite layouts at the show, including those that won awards.

Driving a Shepperton to Waterloo service (starting at Norbiton as the line to Shepperton is not modelled in TS). Using DTG "Portsmouth Direct London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour" route, and the Armstrong Powerhouse EP for the Class 700 (700/707/717). AI 444s and 450s are also AP EP, though 455s are not (yet). The 455 is the default one from the DTG route. The overground unit is from DTG "WCML...

Great layouts! Does anyone know where I can get a London Underground arched cable carrier as seen on Southgate Park? 😮
Not a prototype I've ever modelled, but it looks like it could be something from here: www.scale3d.co.uk/collections/underground Out of stock currently but it looks very similar to what is on Southgate. Matt
@ thank you 🙏
@ items ordered! Thanks for your help! Phil
Some nice layouts there. I think Southgate Park will always be a favourite of mine!
Beautiful scenery!
i play a game based off this and we only have the trains 3-1, 4 and 3-1-2 and the rest is for special people
Which service is this?
This is just a train sim scenario I created. I guess it ressembles a Lincoln, York or Leeds-bound service that calls at Stevenage... Matt

Nice looking layout, watched it, and a few of your others earlier with my grandson (11). He's recently started his own Dylington Model Railway channel ( comments turned off for his protection) and is enjoying looking at other people's channels to get ideas for his channel and his next layout.... cheers James 🙂👍
Thanks for the nice comments. Sound really adds a nice dimension. I am still learning about weathering. I almost ruined a mark 3 inspection coach but doing too much. Less is more. So now this coach is modelled as being needing the wash shed lol Some weathering washes don't wipe off properly if you put too much on especially on light colors so dry brushing is a must...I found out the hard way. But have ago and weather too your personal taste. I hate the pristine look even passenger stock would get grubby between visits to the wash shed lol Lastly light washes actually bring out body details. Bernie
My kind of layout. Check out my one. Hi from NZ
Thanks a lot! Yours is well put together too - nice atmosphere with the DCC sound and some of the weathering you have going on. I plan on starting out in DCC in the next couple of years or so. Matt
Awesome layout 👍
Love the atmosphere and operation. Great viewing 👍
This can't be right. Why no single line token being passed on ?
Hi Ross. You're quite right. The mechanical part of the token instrument hadn't yet been returned to working order when this was filmed so unfortunately couldn't be simulated. In reality, the signalman would've held down the plunger on the last beat of certain bell codes to allow the tokens to be removed/replaced in the system. Cheers, Matt
Nice to see you got a left pegger and a right pegger preserved
I needed to know why don’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for the main line Train so that they can extend the unused abandoned underground stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Trains and also having 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it bigger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Train tunnel into a High-Speed train? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Train line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. then put the modernised 11 car per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those 4 European countries such as Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 cars per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 37 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project that is OK for London Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford could they extend the DLR? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and they can order Every 17 Octagon and Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 117MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 117MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!, oh can you make all of those Coal Boxes’s 16 Tonnes for all of the 117MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!! so please make sure that the Builders can do as they are Told!! And please do something about these very important Professional ideas Please Prime Minister of England, the Prime Minister of Sweden, the Prime Minister of Germany, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.
All working well until water from a burst pipe freezes in the lock for the Up Starter!!
Yes, Tim remembers that well!
How did you get those instruments?
Instruments were purchased on Ebay from various collectors. They also come up regularly at Railwayana auctions.
@@timandmattstevensrailwaysbut when I would buy two bells from Railwayana, is it like in real life, I mean that when I have 1 and 2 and I press the tapper on 1 that it rings on 2
@@TransitZone Yes, you can wire the tapper of one to the bell of another and vice versa, and power it with a low-voltage battery. Because we a simulating a box with boxes on both sides, we have a small push-button panel to trigger the bells, and the tappers are wired to nothing, otherwise you would unrealistically hear the bell ringing in the room (in the box that should be a mile or two away). Matt
Beautiful pieces of equipment! This is what makes the technical aspect of signaling riveting.
How did you create this simulation?
The instruments are genuine, purchased on eBay and from Railwayana auctions. We use low-voltage batteries to power the indicators and bells. The adjacent signal boxes are simulated using a hidden panel.
@@timandmattstevensrailwayswhat batteries?
Great video been the Mitford sadly bare and empty. I recall the pub was quite good
Lovely stuff, thanks for explaining all the bell codes 👍
Fascinating. I've been looking at the railway history of the area myself. I can just about make out the little track plan diagram for the junction. Is that just a line crossover or was it a single slip?
Hi there. It is a separate line crossover and turnout to the Higham Ferrers branch.
