We don’t smile when walking on street because we have lot of thoughts and we don’t pay attention to surrounding :-). Finnish comedian ISMO would say that we are very smart when we have so much thoughts, but Latvians would joke that our main thoughts are “What is this tanned guy with beard thinking about me? Why is he laughtnig, is there something wrong with me?” So go figure what is correct :-)

This is incorrect. Estonian orthography does not (usually) distinguish between long and overlong sounds. It also doesn't distinguish between palatalized and unpalatalized sounds.

I was about to comment that. However, Estonian is A LOT easier to read than French or English. There are still some things you just need to know, but in general it is easier...

I like the part about not talking. I would leave the house more often (during the daytime) to do some grocery shopping without having to engage in a small-talk-spiked staring contest with the cashier.

Short answer - no. Especially for 3rd country citizens, immigration policy of Estonia is pretty shitty, they basically doing everything to kick you out after 5 years, they not interested keep people who spent a lot of time integrating. And the biggest con is amount of ruslands here

The cultures talked about in this video are common also in Japan. But Japanese generally make smiles to get a good reputation from people whether they're comfortable. In my small experiences, Estonians were kind and friendly. When we walked around a forest in Estonia and observed mushrooms, some talked to us with smiles.

While the vast majority of Hindi or Urdu loans in English are closely related to the Indian subcontinent topics, any audio in Hindi or Urdu shows, that English words have replaced a lot of the common words that had to exist before the British conquest there. In Estonian, there are a few possibly related words with the Indian languages, dating back for several thousands of years, like 'ajama' (to drive, to cast). More lately, if not counting the Indian words intermediated by English or other languages, there is perhaps just a single word from the Indian languages, coming from a direct contact (with Romani): 'manguma' (to beg).

no one in the west is interested now in what is happening in Afghanistan until 1979, no one in the west knew or wanted to know about Afghanistan. and when the USSR sent troops there at the request of the Afghan government, all the mass media in the west were filled with news from there. how Soviet soldiers allegedly kill Afghans there. which was not true. and remember last year. An earthquake occurred in Afghanistan. thousands of poor people in a poor province died. and no one in the west wrote about them. and no one helped them. This is Europe two-faced. only Kazakhstan sent aid to victims in Afghanistan. no one in west is interested in what is happening in Africa or Afghanistan or in Asia

Imo generaly a strong majority of estonians (mostly those born before 91) are definetly racist behind closed doors by american standarts. For example most estonians/russians use the n-word very frequently. The major reason for this is that historicaly thare realy have not been many people of african descent in Estonia and here the word does not have the same asociation with slavery as it does in the americas and is conciderd a mostly neutral word unless used in a intentionaly imflammatory way. On another note estonians are generaly very tame reserved and polite thus very very few people would ever use it in public especially infront of a black person.

It is same everywhere in Europe, it is in recession, even though they fake the official statistic to make it not so bad. This and the next year it will only get worse. If you think about coming to Estonia or any other country with 1-2 million of population at the a....s of the world, I recommend you to HIGHLY reconsider it.
