Great flight! I am getting into FPV too and normally fly near motor city. Only annoying thing is that as you go into open spaces, its just a desset and there is not much to see.
@fidalook Another way is turn into GV and go straight at the signal toward the 611 but at the roundabout go left the tarmac runs out after 100m and follow the track up to the left along the back of GV. However the track more suitable for SUV's. The last way is on the emirates road go past GV and take the next exit a the road head into the desert then loops right back toward GV, Before the road runs out take a left, the road runs out at small bridge an GV is on your right.
There are a few ways to get to where I fly. From AR take the turn off to GV and when you reach the signal turn left, at the far side of GV is a gap in the fence you can park there and walk around 250m to the unused road or if you have an 4x4 drive over the sand. I sometimes just fly the other side of the fence. The police have showed up a few times but are only interested in the planes and watching.
@Stuart4178 Nad Al Sheba is ok on week days .... its the weekends that get real hairy, I've seen 2 guys taking off in opposite directions at the same time... There is a military base ( i see them flying in formation in the mornings when i go there) but is very far .... seems to be over 10K away and they never come over or near where i fly..... i think GV is closer. About the location that you fly .... do you have to go off road to reach the spot that you fly?
@fidalook Yeah not sure if its legal either. Normally between global village and the 611 (far side of GV there a gap in fence 100m across the sand is a road which is never used, not far from Arabian Ranches. I think know where your flying but isn't that near the military air base :). I haven't done any FPV yet although I've built 2 FPV planes over the summer. I've also flown at Nad al Sheba but it gets busy there.
@Stuart4178 Hey Stuart.... Thanks for watching the video, the video was taken at the desert that is on the way to Bab Al Shams... its near my house (Arabian Ranches). Taken a few at Nad Al Sheba as well but not sure if I wanna post em on youtube .... not sure if its legal here. Where do you fly? nice videos BTW.
Cool have the fy21ap and ap117 OSD on Hobby King EPP FPV, was worried about the heat and humidity. But Vid looks cool so I'll be taking mine out shortly. Where do you fly , I live in Dubai and don't recognise the area, then again the desert all looks the same :)
