My Dad, My Instructor

Lawrence Latimer was one of the best instructors and aviation mentors out there. He earned his Wright Brothers award, and taught so many countless pilots. We did a little research and all the crops duster pilots he taught, none have been involved in a fatal accident. that's kind of a record in itself. He served in Vietnam 101st airborne 1966-1967. He learned to fly helicopters while in the Army...
T6 Practice Formation SD 480p
Переглядів 766 місяців тому
finally did some basic edit of a T6 formation practice I was invited to ride along on. while it appears nothing fancy or exciting is happening, the hyper focus of the pilots is real. My job was to not distract, but enjoy and also call out anything the others have missed or couldn't see. an unforgettable adventure. Thanks To Steve Swift, Lanny Parcell(my pilot) and Larry Henderson for the inclus...
Years later still a view I don’t regret.

I had recorded quite a bit of my last ferry flights most is minimal use for good videos but this I finally realized was the day before I had the engine failure. I had multiple plans in my head for the flights… didn’t plan on having to use those emergency plans… but least I had planned so the emergency may have been less of an emergency than could have been..
One reason I love to fly, sunrises.

my friend Les happened to be heading out same time I was about to give a final flight in the C model aztec I flew with so many students. so we did some loose formation and caught a couple videos too.
So small you can see them. Lol
I better see that spider at the gates of heaven, it’s so cute😭
You made it look easy.
Eight seconds in, on the middle right of the video you can see a white cone deciding to go on an adventure!
The stupid AD was almost as long as the video. Come on You Tube!
Watching stuff like this, it makes sense that landings are some of the most difficult and dangerous parts of flying. These big metal birds just WANT to fly.
she wants to flyyyyyy
That blouse explains everything. She’s all over the map!
😂😂😂😂
Cool
What engine failure?!
impressive
where did you get that shirt ? it's great.
company is called Chart it All
Oh wow that's really cool. When you first started flying were you scared 1-10
I didn’t know better as I was in airplanes since an infant. But have had some fearful moments as I learned things I didn’t know that seem scary but often the fear is worse than the actual thing
Well done. I would suggest you equip the J4 with shoulder harness though. In a situation like this they can mean the difference between walking out or being carried out.
Not my plane. I was just hired help that day. It was later equipped.
@@cfimom sounds good. J4 and J5 or both favorites of mine.
What was the problem with engine...anybody?
Well done.......
I miss the 152. I saw my trainer recently up for sale. It look so beat up, it made me a little sad. It didn't look air worthy.
Job well done
It’s related to the previous video of my landing same pane in that field after losing partial power. And now the obstacles were closer as well as still a chance the engine could fail again.
Lacking power? Overloaded? Please explain!
I'll bet they wish they had put those little slats in to stabilize the control surfaces. Looked like the yoke was getting yanked around pretty good
All my flying solo I would talk my way through most all maneuvers and situations. A very good practice…This is an excellent pilot..Nice feature of a Cub is you can take it apart and truck it home.
Yep I talk thru 80% of all my flying alone or not lol… and this one time didn’t have to take plane apart actually fixed and flew it out.
No control locks? Dumb.
Well done CFI mum.......kindest regards from me, a pilot, in Australia.
I watched my first real airplane, a 1946 Luscombe 8A, dance like that at Mexia Airport, Mexia, Texas back in 1998. The Micro Burst was so strong that it ripped her out of the ground. She levitated straight up and did a backflip pulling all three tie down ropes out of the ground with the 3’ long x 8” round concrete that they were embedded in the ground with. The airplane flew inverted backwards at about 40’ agl until it came down on its back about 100’ away on the other side of the runway. All of the while all 3 the concrete cylinders were flailing and beating holes in her. Once she hit the ground the wind picked her back up, flipped her right side up, and she flew tail first at about 20’ agl and hit tail first another 50’ away. The wind then blew her backwards on the ground until she wound up in the airport parameter fence. She did exactly what this buck 50 did about 3 times before she got ripped out of the ground.
Poor plane..
Beautiful job. 👍
Bravo! Calm, cool and collected. Great job!
great job.
Our cat comes running if she hears the printer start! She loves to watch it spit out paper!
I love Southwest and the 737! Beautiful Max departure!
Nothing like watching your plane try to fly without you XD
Too cute 🥰 so curious 😂
I've had normal runway landings in large commercial jets that weren't as smooth as yours!
lol I was lucky was smooth and didn’t find mud! Yep only two landings that ever truly counted for me and both I planned for a crash!
So what happen to the engine
Fantastic piece of aviation...cool calm and no fuss...what happens now..does the aircraft have to have the wings removed and be recovered by road. Be nice to have a follow up on what caused your engine issues..
Actually there is a video the owners took where I left same field same day. Was a stuck valve and luckily got it unstuck and took the risk and luckily made it home. No video of the diagnosis or fix. Cameras had died by then
@@cfimom many thanks...happy you managed to get it sorted and fly out of there...👍👍
Well done!
Aww cmon. She wants to fly sooooooo bad. Why not go out and fly with her?!!!
Absolutely amazing. Textbook! Good job!!!
The control surfaces are barely moving why people basically screaming "OMG NO YOKE LOCK!!!!"... It's like the plane itself is physically moving substantially so of course the control surfaces are going to deflect some it's basic physics... Have people never done a control check? You know they deflect a WHOLE LOT more than that right?
Yeah, it’s kind of fun to weed out those who know and who don’t
awwww, it's dreaming
So calm, well done. This may or may not have been a fouled plug…try leaning out your mixture for a while when this happens. It can help to clean them. Just one more thing to try.
This was a stuck valve and there is no mixture installed on this model. The engine had sat for many years prior to buyers purchase and relocation to new home base. Luckily was able to fix and depart same field then engine was promptly overhauled
@@cfimom excellent video and a pleasure to hear back. Thanks!
Poor guy justs want to be a Decathalon!
Why has she not informed air traffic control, 😮😅😅😅😅FAKE ,
The lack of a control lock hurt my soul.
The elevators aren't moving their entire range. The lock is in, just there's flex in the cables. Also the hole for the control lock pin gets wider over time because of stuff like this.
Ailerons doing the dance. Gust lock, please
Should add music 😂😂😂
I want to learn flying for free 🥺
Maybe the control lock was on. The elevator didn't really deflect that much considering that the wind was coming from behind. If the wind had been coming over the nose instead of from behind, that thing would have been lifting off
Lock was in place but yeah was a strong microburst from the north
@@cfimomIf the gust lock was on then someone needs to fix it because the elevator was definitely flapping. In the C150s I've flown the pin through the control column also locked the ailerons.
Get some shoulder harnesses installed in that thing!!!
That’s for the owners to decide and purchase. I’m just paid to relocate the plane..
How do you not have to communicate with ATC?
Not certain what your asking other than ATC communication is not a requirement especially in an aircraft that does not have electrical system installed and also factor not on a specific flight plan that requires communication.
