You just saved hours of work, thank you. I have been video editing and making content since 2016. I thought MP4s being unrecoverable was just common knowledge. I don't know why I searched for a solution, I thought I knew everything about the subject. I clicked your video thinking there was going to be some catch, some reason why your file was fixable and mine would not be. I seriously considered clicking off the vid in the beginning to just not waste more of my time on the issue. Boy am I glad I didn't do that. All I can say is I am kinda disappointed that people are replying to others on reddit or forums with this issue saying MKV is recoverable but MP4 is not.
