You a film student and need to make films? Obviously, get a MacBook. Are you a business student needing to create multiple graphs, have multiple tasks running? Yeah, use a MacBook. Computer choices are extremely personal at the end of the day. If it works for you, use an iPad. If a laptop works for you, use a laptop. No one knows your needs as well as yourself, so don't let a tech bro tell you what he thinks you should have.

i just ordered a M4 max with 64GB RAM excited for my unnecessarily powerful computer. though my current 16GB air does get a bit low on RAM if i'm running test validators locally or running a VM, and I wouldn't mind messing around with local coding LLM's so not really all that unnecessary

The software Dr. Fone you shared is really efficient when transfer data. Although I need to pay for it, but as long as it can really solve my problem, I am willing to pay.

I try to make the same software for the iPad and Mac. They run the same code. The Mac is usually faster, though, you have to sort of sit at a desk and it’s much heavier (2025). I’d get the iPad.

So in summary, the best things about the phone are a feature that's not exclusive to it, a chip that almost every android flagship uses, and an unergonomic design, which is the only thing you listed actually setting the phone apart.
