I remember in my ‘bashing’ days making the dash to Bham New St on Sundays as they used to drag the electric Euston trains usually a 86/87 diagram to enable the engineering works to take place. Great times. The 31s used to perform the Bham - Norwich cross country service AND 37s were smashing the Liverpool St to Cambridge route. Not to mention the regular Manchester to North Wales services handled by 40s. Those were the days. I miss them ‼️

I used Harlow Town station, Essex, in the early 1980's. When a Type 37 approached, the entire station would resonate loudly to the sound of its engine. It was the only station I have ever known do this. The type 37 hauled trains were London Liverpool Street to Cambridge and Kings Lynn.

'37's at full throttle has to be one of the best diesel sounds around - I'd even go so far as to say they rival the mighty Deltic.

Sounded like the original Paxman 16Cylinder in that 56.

How much power does a 47 pack? They sound so beefy compared to the diesel locos here in America 😂😂😂😂😂

I've got to ask, are the nose end pieces interchangeable between the 37 and 40? Cos they look the same shape and size. Obviously I'm aware that the 40s have one more axle per bogie, and they're longer, but apart from that they look almost the same. Although I think the noses look better on the 37s. Especially when the centre head code, is panelled with two lights, with a centre light beneath, forming a triangle. They look so menacing. Not so keen on the look of the split head code ones though.

I thought that the seagulls at the beginning were the strange horn for a moment!! Is it headed for Caley Sleeper duties?

66309 is a european import as far as im aware! Hence the funny sounding horns, correct me if im wrong
