2024 Lilliputian - C Senior D36
First time winning the Lilliputian and Over all. Dirt Diggers created a high speed course that include Hang town MX, high speed S bends, single track and riverbed rock obstacles. If you werent fast on the MX track you had plenty chances to make up for it across the rest of the course. Due to rain the night before we were blessed with perfect conditions for our delayed start race. We only just got going after 4pm which meant finishing in the dark.
Thanks Dirt Diggers MC, D36 and Motion Pro for the prize for Over All Winner!

2024 Riot at the Riverbed / MMX - C Senior D36
Переглядів 362Місяць тому
Fun track at MMX for round 11 of the cross country series. It was hot, so hot they announced they would be shortening the race. I had a good race up until the last 2 laps where I was just too hot for me to keep up. Overall had a good time but the heat hit me hard towards the end. Managed to finish the race and avoid a DNF but for these hot races I think I'll keep an ice bucket in the pits. Than...
2024 Fools Gold Sprint Enduro - C Senior D36
Переглядів 2984 місяці тому
50th running of the Fools Gold Enduro in Georgetown and hosted by The Timekeepers MC with CERA. TMC setup a classic Georgetown course with test 1 & 2 being fast and flowing with test 3 throwing in some technical sections. I was missing my 2-stroke as I looped the bike in the only real technical section of the day but managed less drama in the second run. Despite the heat most of the course was ...
2024 Virginia City Grand Prix - Saturday Race - Lap 1
Переглядів 10 тис.6 місяців тому
Lap 1 from the 2024 Virginia City Grand Prix. This race is always a good time to meet old friends and push yourself against 450 other riders across a 22 mile course completing as many laps as possible in 4 hours. Thanks to friends who helped with pitting and the organizers for another good event! The whoops completely destroyed me this year and I was just riding instead of racing by lap 3. Clas...
2023 Old Mill Hare Scramble - C Vet+ D36

Back to posting races after 1 year of multiple issues ranging from injuries or engine part delays! This year decided to switch it up on a 250 4 stroke to see how it fairs but this might've been the wrong race to test it! Gopro also misbehaving and stopped recording after 9 mins. Take a year off and everything stops working. We were blessed with amazing conditions and I really enjoyed this first...
2021 Lilliputian Hare Scramble - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 3492 роки тому
Terrible camera mount, next race I'll be flipping the camera so its upside down in the mount to get a better perspective. This was a lot more comfortable than the neck brace mount. Unfortunately not the greatest to watch. Perfect conditions for the Lilliputian at Prairie City. I had a bad shoulder injury from a crash 7 weeks prior at the Riverfront GP, so planned to just ride this race and keep...
2021 Donner Hard Enduro - C Race Saturday
Переглядів 3,2 тис.3 роки тому
The Donner Hard Enduro is hard. After a good start, within 30 minutes I was exhausted and started dropping the bike and making mistakes. At 6,000-7000ft elevation and 100f temps picking up your bike regularly is about the worst thing you can do. Heat exhaustion got to me about an hour in and I stopped on the slab section for what felt like hours trying to cool off. I managed to get 1 lap in and...
2021 Old Mill Hare Scramble - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
First time at the Old Mill HS for me, this course was 6 miles of tight twisting trails through dry creek beds, eucalyptus trees and deep sandy dusty ruts! Once the dust cleared this became a really fun course to run! After last week I decided to not push as hard and just ride my own race through the dust, ended up being a lot of fun by lap 5 and I just focused on my lap times. Switched out my f...
2021 Shasta Dam GP - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
We had an interesting start to the C race. After about an hour of delay standing around in the heat we finally got going for the Shasta GP. With a drought that meant dust, lots of it and this course was tight with technical sections so a lot of risk if you weren't in front. I struggled a lot between the dust, sand, hard pack and never got into a good flow with the course and crashed a bunch of ...
2021 Burrows Ranch Hare Scramble - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
Another weekend of perfect weather but this time at Burrows Ranch, with terrain that feels a lot like Lazy Bumb but had long winding high speed corners in the flats. single file ravines and sandy silty hill climbs. If you weren't great in one area you had opportunity to make time in others. Our race in the morning had around 250 riders which made DUST a huge problem. If you got out in front you...

The inaugural Bear Mountain Hare Scramble is a new location for the D36 XC series put on by the Polka Dots MC & District 36. We were blessed with perfect weather, perfect dirt and perfect trails. This course kept us guessing with long off camber corners, loose side hills and tight single track we all love. It was a welcome change from the MX tracks and we are back to figuring out how to pass 10...
2021 Rumble Hare Scramble / MMX - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
The Rumble Hare Scramble was a fun mix of river crossings, log jump, snaking sand pits, riverside pebbles and the usual MX jumps. I totally missed the start as most of the riders on my side never heard the horn go off but despite that I think it kept me out of trouble as a few guys went down on the 1st lap due to crowding. My best lap hit 10:12 and on the final lap I misjudged a jump and went o...
2021 Fast Times Hare Scramble - C Vet+ D36
Переглядів 3653 роки тому
The AMA introduced a rule regarding helmet mounted cameras, so I tested a chest mount. It didn't work very well and this is the best footage I salvaged from 90 mins of my seat or handlebars. Hopefully a neck brace mount will give better height and reduce the extreme angles between standing or sitting. The Fast Times Hare Scramble was a rude awakening after a few months of delayed or cancelled r...

The 2020 season ends at the famous Wilseyville Hare Scramble in its 67th year, we had perfect conditions for the C class with about 300 riders in our race. I decided to go swimming on the first lap, had an unlucky crash while passing another rider 299u on the second (sorry for that) and spun out on a slick corner in the third. Tight and technical course that was a lot of fun, I can't wait for n...
2020 Fort Sage Hare Scramble - C Vet+

Back to cross country style races at Fort Sage OHV. Amazing location with wide open spaces, fast corners and deep blue skies. I really enjoyed this race and wish I had the footage from the second lap. Made some mistakes in corners where my front washed out but aside from that it was mostly drama free. Loads of sandy whoops and patches of single track on the course but overall I felt really good...

Well done, congratulations on the win. Night time ending kinda interesting for sure.
Sucks ama did away with the helmet mount... Good race!!
yep. i fixed the camera position @29:35 but still prefer the chin mount as you get to see where the rider is looking.
@bikesbeersbeats I noticed the fix. I rode part of the last lap. Didn't realize how dangerous riding at that time of day actually is... Im a DDNMC member... my section was the VORRA area. Great job, and congratulations
Nice pass around 3:15.
Dude good job! Congratulations on the win and overall. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I threw my chain on the first lap, ended up being a 26 minute lap. I was thinking you might be at this race, was hoping to make an appearance in your video.😂 I raced in the Senior +, 429F. Averaged 10 minute laps after the first disaster, I’ll give it a better go next time. Had a blast though, track was fun. Need to get my balls back and start getting comfortable on those jumps. Hope you’re doing well, heat stroke is no joke. I had been hydrating for days leading up to it and was still smoked after. Hats off to all the men who rode that race.
Awesome you fixed the chain and completed the race!
@@bikesbeersbeats I did, felt pretty good about it. Still got 6 laps in.😬
Man, I was wondering and trying to find you after the race. I’m glad you’re okay buddy and it was good seeing you.
I was okay. Just found my limit on this particular day. Last time was Donner in 2021. Need to keep a bucket in the pits for mid race dunking 😂
Awesome!
Love me some gtown
I race that grand prix back in the 90s on 125 kx
Short shift
i gotta work on that next, noticed the same in my latest race.
Do I hear a 4 stroke? What size?
250 xcf, still not used to all the engine breaking but slowly adapting to it.
What a SHITTY course. Glad I never rode it ! 😂😂
Thank you for the reminder of how much I hated that race!😂
Dusty and rocky , good ol VC .
What bike were you on Devil Dog?
250 xcf
Shift that thing Dirty Steve!! Haha nice race man that race is a blast 🤘
sucks with the skidplate man- that shit is so annoying mid-race. greating riding dude I would love to do this race one year. subscribed bud-
is this still part of the Best in the Desert Series that i used to race in back in the early 1990's? the one out of Tonapah was nasty! Well done
Great ride man. Down in the creek people were dropping like flys and you’re as smooth as butter right through them 👍
Nice ride. Did they penalize you for passing in the no passing area at start?
unfortunately didnt see those signs until later laps, no podium for me
I was just about to ask the same question. Not only was it posted but they went over it in the riders meeting.
@@ericunderI was in row 40. The riders meeting sounded like Charlie brown’s teacher. I knew it was happening, but id be lying if i said I could understand a single word of it.
Too bad we can't do this in Carlsbad 😂
I want to do this!
A lot of heavy breathing in this one.
This looks like a great track to ride on a Sunday morning with your buddies. The weather looked perfect.
That's funny on your thumbnail of this video. That's me in front, lol. Yeah thats why I switched to 300 2 strok. Thosee 4 strokes seem to flame out a lot
I got almost the whole race on my channel. We were delayed so I doubt any of us caught you guys.
That was a crazy start for a Vet Plus C Class. This will be my class whenever I get this Project Bike finished. Nice video. Glad that you are back out there after taking some time off. Thanks for posting what the GoPro would record. 👍✊
Video is sped up. They aren’t going that fast
So much fun. Your skills have improved immensely.
Ouch at 7:00, good riding for sure.
Nice job buddy, and welcome back. Have you tried turning your idle up a hair? I did that on my 350 and never had an issue afterwards if the flameouts.
I’ll give it a shot. Some have recommended a vortex ecu.
Tomorrow January 28 it's Old Mill Hare Scramble d-36. It will be my first motorcycle race, old and broken but determined! Appreciate the video to give me a heads up on the course.
What number/class? I’ll be out there, should be amazing conditions!
Super senior, this will be my first race in District 36. First race ever to be honest, I mainly ride singletrack!
Great job, and very cool that you called out the location, your bike, race class info, and some labeled time stamps!
Hare Scrambles should never start with a straightaway, and semi mx track, anyone can go fast. 10 guys get ahead that have zero enduro skills and the bottle necks begin as soon as the technical sections come. Start with a prologue at least, to catch/hold back those with no enduro skills, and allow everyone to have a great day. Edit: The track part is admittedly cool, but they should do a prologue; Logs, rock garden, etc to determine the starting positions, then head to the semi mx track, leading into the single track.
How do you find out about these races? I live in the Bay and would love to do this
Are you trying again this next weekend
Did he cut the first corner by like 50 feet?
There's always that guy with a flannel shirt ... or is it the same guy?
Did you run a lower tire pressure than normal for the sand? Plan on doing the race in a couple weeks this year here?
In the rear I use a tubliss at about 8 psi.
Can you help explain to me what a GP is? I thought it was supposed to be a track race but it seems closer to cross country? Seems very fast and has some road course stuff it looks like?
I'm not sure if there is a specific definition as all of these races are in the d36 cross country class. Having said that PCGP is much higher speed because of the wide open sections. The Lilliputian is at the same location but it has Hangtown MX and a different configuration.
@@DirtSteveZA I went last weekend! Hell of a time!
Awesome video and new sub here!!!
Headed out there this weekend. Looks like an awesome course. Will be my first race so my goal is to finish without causing a bottleneck. #244K

Good job buddy for coming off an injury. Good seeing you 🙌🏼🙌🏼 you going to fort sage
Congrats on your podium! You were flying! Very stoked for you. Not going to be at Fort Sage as I need to be in Boston Monday morning. Its a cool location and I think with all the whoops is better suited to a linkage bike.
@@DirtSteveZA thank you man, I totally appreciate that big time. Oh bummer, have safe travels my friend.
Love how you put all the times in so you can jump around and watch the exiting stuff, good race
Is the idle on your bike crazy high? Or sounds super lean off the bottom
Hows riding in the vet class? Im 31 now and they bumped me to C vet.
Its competitive.
@@DirtSteveZA compared to c sportsman?
@@Shipman37x lots of riders that only ride one or two d36 races a year, often there are really good riders at A/B level but because they enter just one or two races they never progress to the next class. You find that the consistent C Vet riders are at every race and are mostly at a similar level. I think C Vet is usually bunched in with a bunch of other classes so the field can be crowded.
Great job fighting through the heat exhaustion, we know about that down here in AZ! I have to ask, what camera settings are you using? Everything seems sped up and jerky, even though I know it's real time. All of the trail footage, and even when you put on your goggles at one point, it was all choppy, like an old time movie. Are you shooting it slower than 30 frames per second?
I use a gopro 7 at 24fps, because of the slow average speed for this race I bumped the speed up by 7% so thats probably why it gets jerky as frames are then dropped in post editing. I tested it out at 30fps and the videos dont do a good job conveying the speed or violent movement you experience while riding. When its liquid smooth its not very entertaining to watch 🤣
@@DirtSteveZA I see! Have you tried recording in 1080p at 60 fps, and then editing post-production in 1080p 30 fps? I do that - you get all the action, and none of the jerkiness. I use the GoPro 5 - don't know if that makes a difference or not?
if you find any grey stop signs, GET... THE HELL... AWAY FROM THERE if you find a zombie CLOWN, do absolutely NOTHING to him
Heat exhaustion is very dangerous. Glad you are OK. Pro racer Tim Coleman was hospitalized for nearly a month after a hard enduro down in Australia. Nice video. Keep cool next time.
Nice work!
Great stuff man!
Great job I was next to u on the line on the Ktm 125 with the black gear
How did you get on with the race?
I made it to the last hill before the finish and my bike slid down the hill and by that time I was to tired to even pick up my bike and then they hit me with the disqualified as soon as I picked my bike up
@@badpasscletus1234 ☹️ it was definitely a challenge for C class riders. Looking forward to next year as I have a better idea of what I need to work on to get 2 laps in.
