I think maybe this is fascinating and helpful, but I could use a much longer and much slower video to help me understand it better.
Ok cool maybe I'll do that
Super
thank you for your encouragement mate
@denniswinge9232 👏🎷
I have poo in my butt
Using this technic can also write it in western classical notation when you change the time signature to 18/16
@Usage_of_Sawdust_In_South_Caro yes that's right
@@denniswinge9232 maybe 9/8 would be better, because it is a more common time signature and it reflects the original 3/4 better, because you can feel the beat as 3+3+3 and have the rhythm as syncopation between the 2nd and the 3rd beat, between the 4th and 5th beat and between 6th and the 7th beat. On the other hand 3+4+4+4+3 embedds more natural in 18/16 and you can play it against 6+6+6. So I am actually not sure which time signature would be better.
@Usage_of_Sawdust_In_South_Caro if you've seen Adam's original video on this, he presents it a few different ways as well
Takida Takadimi sounds like a more formal system of saying as I was taught "Pineapple Huckleberry" & words like that. Very cool.
Yeah someone else commented "banana terracotta" as well
@denniswinge9232 wow, what a huckleberry! Or would that be me?
@@loulasher lol
frickin sweet lois
:)
Gracias por compartir, son bateríasta y me vuene de mucha ayuda !!
Me alegra que te haya sido útil.
wonderful example of why Konnakol should be something explored by more western musicians and teachers
yes it should
we do! I learned it in musical school. I'm class of 2024 btw
@@user-ty8me4hm1w glad to hear they are teaching that now
@@user-ty8me4hm1w is there just one music school?
@ I went to the University of North Texas. idk what goes on at other schools
Nicely done, the single image lays it out so simply :)
thanks
thank you for introducing me to takida and takidimi
sure! the whole John McLaughlin Gateway to Rhythm series is on YT now if you want more
Banana Terracotta Terracotta Terracotta Banana, in other words
couldn't have said it better myself :)
Good stuff
cheers
Great video! You’ve showed Adam Neely up haha
hardly ha ha
Nice playing.
thanks for your encouragement
Brilliant that you use Konnakol to illustrate this. Thank you !
cheers buddy
yeah, banger
I only had an issue with the notation itself. As you demonstrated, it would look better and more playable to split each quarter note into sextuplets and place the notes where they correspond
yes that would have been good
👍
:)
this is amazing
glad you found it helpful. konnakol makes so many things easier :)
Very nice
thanks for the feedback milkman!
🎉🎉🎉
happy holidays
Nice Gibson (I think) guitar. Love that sunburst finish.
thanks that one's my favorite

not exactly sure what you mean here
Bravo
thanks for listening and for your encouragement
Really cool use of a weird scale!
listening back, it's funny that I used a square-dance type backing track for it :)
Спасибо, прекрасно!
Glad you liked it!
😂😂 Rubbish from the first note
Glad I could give you a laugh at least
Sounds great..good job
Thank you Jimmy!
That's intro❤
Thank you
😂 I was listening while driving and thought it was the Larry Carlton Trio. Finally, I’ve found an improvisation that I truly like. It’s a shame I can’t listen to it in better sound quality. This is the best cover of ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’ I’ve heard so far.
oh I'm so glad you enjoyed it! thanks for feedback
Sorry, sir. please disregard my previous message. I just listened to your music on Apple Music, and personally, I think it’s even better than Larry Carlton’s. I was truly impressed by your music. I’m a new fan. And thank you for your reply😂
@@루카-v7q well thanks all the same; I have a solo guitar album coming out in January called "Sunday Brunch"

So if you were standing inline at the grocery store, never in a million years, would you look over at this dude and think hmmmm I bet that guy can shred a guitar. Never judge a book by the cover art.
SRV thought so…
yeah that version is killin'
The real jazz sound. ASTONISHING ❤
thanks so much for the feedback Giulio!
Well done Dennis! The arrangement is great too 👌👏👏👏
thanks for the encouragement, Andre!
I like my chicken fried and with a couple feathers still on; just like this.
Yeah they never serve it like that at KFC what's up with that? :)
@@denniswinge9232 They get their chicken from Neptune, that's why.
Almost 500 views and no one gave their thoughts yet? Strange. I like it. It's more appealing to me than Hungarian minor.
yes William it's a bit refreshing sounding since we don't hear it much
I was listenin' to that burnin' guitar. ..and at 3:25, in walked Led Zep 🖤
lol, thanks -- I always do that as a gag whenever a tune has that Am Am/G# Am/G Am/F# progression :)
Nicely done Dennis! 👍👏👏
Thank you Andre!
Klingt völlig unbeholfen, da weiß man doch erst, was man am Original hatte. Vielleicht sollte man zunächst etwas einfachere Bluesnummern in die Setlist aufnehmen. Ihr covert ein Stück von drei hochkarätigen Instrumentalisten - die haben nicht umsonst Weltruhm erlangt.
Thanks for your feedback
thanks
Sure
I know the song, but I can't think of the title. What is the title?
It's "You and the Night and the Music"
wher is 6/8 ??!
You don't hear it my friend?
i ESCAPED from Ithaca, NY ! ok, this is actually great jazz. all this jazz work is why you hire these guys for dinner parties and events. of course, i am OLD. been an amateur percussionist for 25 years or so. funny how things come full circle and now i admire these guys!
Thanks Terrence, where do you live now?
@@denniswinge9232 well, as back-story, i and my housemate led the weekly drum circle for 11 years. eventually i studied under the greatest , Maurice Haltom. A great man. Now, i am living in Vilcabamba , Ecuador . been out of the states for 15 years. I have to admit, i always wanted to start a jazz trio here. In one of your videos you had the congero and a percussionist with you. they played very well. Currently, i just play percussion on " Salsa night " here. Jazz has always been the epitome of music and it touches all styles. the top of the music pyramid is the singer. if you can keep getting gigs you can also start to bring some of the Ithaca College students down to play with you. great for everyone. god bless.
Thanks for the update. Yes I sometimes play with IC students. Many blessings to you too
Very nice playing!!
Thanks for listening Dave
