I wish we were allowed more than 3 weapons - not to be overpowered, but for design. I need some missile launchers for a dramatic opening but dont want to give up my lasers, ballistics or particle turrets.

I like running mgs in side torsos for slightly higher dps with less overheating and more armor. Plus dakka noises
Have been using this build in MWO for years. Clan ER Small Lasers are pretty amazing both in this game and MWO
From what I've seen so far: Energy weapons are better than Mercenaries Ballistic weapons are worse than Mercenaries Missiles feel strange Example Ballistic: UAC/5 is slower firing and larger spread than Mercenaries version LBX10 is much larger spread than Mercenaries version With both the above in Mercenaries you could easily 'swat' flying enemies from quite a distance but that doesn't work in Clan. Also, thanks for explaining the Energy range, it always got me that it is listed as one thing in the build but another in mission.
@pauljackson1944 normal only ballistic you can use at range are the SLD variants since they are slugs instead of shotgun blasts. The only way me and my friends have made ballistics viable is running ultra autocannon SLD 10 or 20 since you can fire them so quickly you can basically just click really fast and instantly core an enemy.

Thanks for the build and the lab lesson. The mechlab in mwo is so much easier but I was confused with this one.
A solid build that lets me get gold damage on the regular in the beginning missions. Similar guides for the Mist Lynx, Artic Cheetah, and Kit Fox would be pretty helpful if you can manage.
I did mine with 7 Small pulse lasers. It kills lights really fast.
A Viper is a medium mech.

@MrTBSC mechwarrior mercenaries has melee weapons! They really should add it to their next multiplayer game if they do make one..
The only issue with this build is you basically have to expose yourself to damage. Instead, it helps if you can outrange enemy defenders, killing them before they can even hit you. ER Mediums can do that.

@Kalosj that's how I treated it, the nova is a monster when you get it. I highly recommend turning the novas medium lasers into smalls. It let's you strap a ton of armor and heat sinks to it and it barely overheats

@ceruleanserpent387 I've looked into it but it's really hard with how they did mgs in this. The bullets only travel 160 meters and then dissappear so you have to practically hug the enemy mech to do damage with it
The White Dwarf 3015 is a customized part, usually indicated by breaking the numbering sequence of a part series and requiring Starship Design 4. Most customized ships have a customized part. For example, the Pinch 8A reactor with 36 power has an extra 600 hull and is associated with the Narwhal sold in Taiyo's showroom in Ryujin Tower at Neon. The Aegis from Deimos has a shotgun blast autocannon as another example. The 3015's are associated with the custom Cerberus you can purchase for siding with the Crimson Fleet over SysDef. Not all customized parts are good though. The Wanderlust, sold at the Eleos Retreat is a 'mini-me' version of the Pinch 8A, offering higher hull but only a piddly amount of power for ship systems. The top end C class shield with 1,600 capacity is associated with the Stronghold at Akila. For a customized ship without a customized part, there is the Silent Runner at HopeTown's sales office. That one merely comes with a shielded cargo bay, saving you a trip to the Red Mile. As an exception to the exceptions I think one of the Amun-Dunn engine series, I want to say the B class ones, have a higher boost ceiling than other engines(most cap at 500-ish while those should push to 700).

What I still don’t understand is if u r building in one star yard but need engines from another yard how do u move to get the parts?

You might already know this, But in creations they have a door mod now, And you can place doors and ladders in the places you want. I have played with it and its works great
Good video. I only learned a couple things that I didn't know, but the interior and weapon damage references will be very useful. A tip for any readers, use the same Nova Cabot C3 Cockpit (or it's variants) that is used here. Connect any 1x1 Hab to the bottom of the Cockpit, the Taiyo Ship Bed 200 on the end, and something like the 100DP Slim Docker or the Extender Port 200 flipped and placed underneath. Your docker and landing bay both lead to the same room, and are right next to the cockpit. To access the rest of the ship, you could place any Hab on top of this 1x1, but that adds another ladder to that 1x1 entrance area, and you'll probly pass through here alot. Instead, put the Hopetech Hab Spine above the 1x1 attached to the upper half of the Cockpit and connect your Hab to that, and build off from there. The Hopetech Spine will not spawn a ladder to the 1x1. Good to note that the Hopetech spines and the similar Nova one used in this video don't spawn ladders when over and under other Habs, so you can use them to cross-over Habs without adding a bunch of unnecessary ladders.

so im level 80-something and have played on difficulty 9 almost exclusively since 30's. ive figured out a lot of the body-party mechanics over time, and use them to my advantage, but somehow NEVER clued in to how these HP pools work until trying to google the HP of enemies and coming across your reddit post. so much makes sense now and i feel so oblivious now having not put the pieces together as to why sometimes the BT is still walking after 5 hastily shot EAT's lmao. i just kinda figured headshots must have massive damage multiplication compared to more armoured bodyparts. appreciate you making this and your post! thanks!!

You can block some ladders by taking a weapon mount or port hole and put it on the hab connection points then set hab in place change the type then change back to the one you want then release and then you got ladders were you want them. There are video's on it cause I was getting infuriated of ladders and found this work around. Great ship build good gaming to you.

You're missing Sam Coe. He is paramount, alongside Omari Hassan. They're the only two that give a free pip of power in the related systems, engines and shields respectively. By adding a crewmate with Aneutronic Fusion you get a total of 3 power on top of the player skill. Sam Coe also gives you quite the speed boost, allowing the speedy Whitestar 3015 engines to hit 280 boost speed instead of their already unique 180.

@@ShaggyShagz13 Ah, whoops. On another note, if you decide to run 6 Hellfire Autocannons for fun the guy from the Viewport Bar can be useful. Gideon Aker, I think? He has 2 in both Ballistic Systems and Missiles.
@@XoRandomGuyoX I only use particle beams. With mods now, I get the 200 crew piece and SW aliens so I have a massive crew fitting of space travel.
Range would make more sense if it was shown as per sec.
I'd recommend abandoning brand loyalty completely to have the best options. I go with the interiors I like then decorate and paint the outside.

Omg this video is so unnecessarily long. This could EASILY be shortened down to 15 - 20 minutes if you just skipped all the irrelevant small talk. As far as build guides go, this was really frustrating to follow.

I realize this video is 7 months old now, but one of the things that nobody ever made clear to me was if you go to the manufacturers and buy unique parts, does that mean they are then available at your outpost landing pad AFTER you buy them for other builds? I couldn't get an answer to this and I was having an infuriating time running around buying parts and sticking them onto a Frankenstein ship, so I just installed a mod that gives all ship parts to all vendors and your outpost pad.
Nice. Complete your own gameplay and ships collection with the GoldStar And the GoldStorm and the IRON STAR 7 UC and The GRAY ANGEL UNIQUE LEGENDERY ships desings for all players. It's telling me ship exceeds max length, width, or height how to fix this? I did everything in the video
This build its at the absolute limit of what's allowed. Check the measurements on the bottom to see which side you exceeded. 40 is the max so if you see anything above that then check that everything on that axis is exactly where it should be.
