Thank you for your review this is the perfect Bible
Just ordered this exact one...cant wait getting it saturday
How does this compare to the Zondervan Illustrated Bible Background Commentary?
The IVP is a large two book volume that has more archeological, historical, and cultural background. For example, Ez 36:26 it speaks about God taking out the heart of stone and giving us a heart of flesh. The IVP had a full page just on the Egyptian background of taking out the heart during mummification and replacing it with a scarab stone for judgement. IVP goes more in depth than the illustrated bible background commentary.
@ thank you ever so much for taking the time to reply ❤️ Greatly appreciate it.
thank you it was very helpful
*§* Thee Thine Thou Ye You is the very best feature to keep singular Vs plural senses!!! I hope they didn't take that away?❓
The one good thing that I believe I am seeing is that they do denote singular and plural next to any pronouns. At least they have that compromise.
@LyricandLetterLLC 😲
........ Don't you mean to say PILCROW ? ❓ ¶ ? .
Yes. I couldn’t remember the name of it. Thank you. 😁
@@LyricandLetterLLC 😎 👌 🤝 .
@@LyricandLetterLLC Absolutely no need to pillory you in the village square. 😉
Thank you for the review, I have had this journaling bible in my Wishlist for a while. I love the inside, space for note taking and colour of the cover. Will definitely save up for it 💙
I just got the faux alligator skin cover. I really like it!
I was only saying: (I own and read a KJVER sword study bible by the way) that there are no changes, the archaic words are still there, but underlined and the proper wording at the end of the verse, unless they changed it??? Thanks again, as you'll see my reviews and yours are the only ones for over 2 years posted on youtube and you have a newer version.
It does look like they changed some things. But for the vast majority of the text it is like you said. I really do like what they are doing with bringing more understandability to the King James.
well they're not even changing the words, but underlining the difficult words and giving you the proper words at the end of the verse, lets please make that clear
Ok I will make it clear in what I am talking about with a direct quote from the KJVER and the authorized KJV. Direct quote from Psalm 23 KJVER: The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surley goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Below is the Authorized King James Version: 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
While I never said they changed anything that will make a difference in the KJV translation. They have made changes to modern equivalents and some nouns and pronoun use.
Thanks for doing this most recent review; I have the KJVER Sword study bible, I done several reviews on it, I am so glad to see (from your video) they're still selling and posting this bible
I had their older editions in both their thin line and their Sword Study Bible. This looks like a much better layout. Are they still doing the superscript P next to you and yours that replace the plural forms from the KJV Ye, You Your? Not sure if I want to buy one yet or not. I grew up on the KJV but really gave the KJVER a shot before switching to the NKJV. But it seemed to lose a lot of the flow of the KJV. One example was 2 Samuel 1:3 the KJV says, "And David said unto him, From whence comest thou?" In the KJVER, it went like this (if I remember correctly) ," David said unto him, From where come you?"
The change to 2 Sam 1:3 is the same from where come you. I do still see the superscript P denoting the plural usage.
❤Amen
Helpful, thanks!
I’ve read the NASB - New American Standard Bible - for 50 years and I have never heard of it called Nazbee. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
It’s just a way I have heard another popular UA-cam creator Mark Ward among others pronounce it as a singular word than spelling it out. I have only really heard it that way recently as well.
@ , thanks for the feedback. It just took me by surprise. 😶😶😶
Enjoyed studying Genesis. Got so much from going down the rabbit hole 😊
Thank you for joining us! Though we will be meeting on a night you cannot be there, I am hoping that these recaps will help anyone who wants to continue stay connected with us. Miss you so much!
@ yes I will be listening 😊
Thank you so much for this video. I just want to ask which of these Bibles is more in-depth with regards to the study notes? I’m debating which one to buy between these two.
The NIV Biblical Theology Bible has more updated notes than its predecessor. I hope this helps!
@ thank you very much for your reply.
Thankyou for the video it is very good and informative 👍
So nice of you. Thank you.
Thank you this really helps
Thank you for the Video, as I understand you said any Bible will work with this dictionary, as I have the ESV, I just want to make sure?
Yes, the terminology, places, and names are pretty common throughout all translations. The only times they are typically specific to a given translation is when it’s something like a concordance. But this and most dictionaries are pretty universal.
Nice Bible! Do the verse numbers indicate the start of a new paragraph. I feel like that would be helpful for studying as well. Thanks.
This one is a paragraph style. Most times it is a verse number that is in bold in the verse by verse layouts in most manufacturers. That’s one think I do like about this one.
@@LyricandLetterLLC Thanks. Some verse-by-verse bibles indicate the start of a new paragraph by making the verse number a different color or bolder than the rest of the numbers. I've seen bibles like the NASB indicates the start of a new paragraph by using a paragraph symbol next to the verse number that it corresponds to. I don't see neither of those things in this CSB Bible.
I bought a Spanish language study bible in the NBLA (Nueva Biblia de las Americas) version, and was surprised to learn that the study notes are the same as the ESV Student Study Bible. Very good notes without being overwhelming.
I am new to the NKJV. I was considering getting one of these because 1) it has book introductions (rare these days) and 2) they are so beautiful. But I cannot handle verse by verse. To me, it feels like reading one long run-on sentence. Or those giant walls of text that people post online with little or no punctuation or line breaks.
I can definitely see where you are coming from. I had the same issue with most of the KJV bibles. Having to find the symbol to separate the paragraphs. There are a few nkjv’s out there that read well i reviewed the verse art paragraph edition, which reads very well, but doesn’t have introductions.
@@LyricandLetterLLC Yes, I have 2 wonderful NKJVs now, a compact Macleran for on the go and just got the Study. Loving it!
I just got one of these NASB Thompson Chain Bibles in the brown soft leather-look. The paper is somewhat thin, but Christianbook does not state the paper gsm. Would you happen to know what the paper gsm is on this one?
This is not really released as far as I can see, but it’s more on the opaque side than some of the study bibles I have seen. Most of the Thompson have been really readable.
@@LyricandLetterLLC the opacity does seem good. What I am concerned about is whether the paper can take gel highlighters without crinkling.
With any of the Bible’s I have used highlighters on I haven’t had much luck with the regular highlighters not crinkling when highlighting especially a paragraph. I have had better luck with the gel based highlighters, and I have even tried crayon of all things, which doesn’t do that bad of a job either.
I Have Been Waiting For The Review Of This Bible For 3 Months Now - So Thank U So Very Very Much, I Now Have Peace About Buying This Bible - I Can Actually Read This Journaling Bible - It’s Soooooooo Refreshing Knowing I Will Not Have To Strain To Read The Word Of God While I Journal !!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊 - Kudos To You Sir - God Bless And Keep U and Ur Beautiful Family 😊
Glad I could help strengthen your decision.
Same here I’ve been so anxious for someone to review it because there’s not too much info on it (on Amazon)
Thank you a great review. I'm waiting for my set to be delivered today...benn waiting since August. Question: What does your wife use to add the additional pages? And where did she purchase them? Thank you! God Bless you both.
Hello this is Rebecca, Charles wife. I actually use scrapbooking paper that is blank on one side. I used a paper cutter to trim down to needed sizes according to the notes. Sometimes I even print typed notes on the scrapbook paper and tape them in using clear tape. I hope this helps!
@ Thank you so much Rebecca!
Just got the Bible and my only two issues are No Red Letter Text for Jesus sayings which i love and the other is the font. Unfortunately 9 is just too small and creates too much strain. Other than that, truly a beautiful Bible. I love the way it feels in my hands.
Have this Bible and it has helped me so very much. I have ms and my comprehension has went down hill so very much so this Bible has literally been a God send for me. Thank you for the review.
You are very welcome. This is the Bible I had chosen when I bought my first newer Bible for myself. I really love this one.
I love KJV 😊
Hi! Very informative video! What is the paper quality like? 🙏
For the price, they chose well for the paper. Good feel and similar ghosting to most of their competitors. I really do like it.
@LyricandLetterLLC Many thanks! 🙏
Smyth sewn?
Yes. Both this and the premium cover version are.
Beautiful. To spend hours in OUR LORD PRESENCE🎉🎉❤

Actually, the KJV is my favorite translation, then comes the NKJV, NASB95, and the Berean Standard Bible.
i came for your wife’s tim wild smith comment hehe. i couldn’t wait to see it. thanks for showcasing this bible ❤
I could see myself starting with the Gospels and eventually the rest of the New Testament.
Glad you find them useful! What do you like about this series the most?
Thank you. My she reads truth is a mess. The first thing I do with the new Bible is to highlight proverbs 3: 5-6. Keeps me humble and willing.
I just received the esv nisb. I have a ton of supplies but I can’t seem to start marking my new beautiful bible.
Believe me when I say I had the same issues when I started marking in my first Bible. Maybe start small with some underlining and go front there. I would recommend working out what color scheme and method you want to use in the long run. Baby steps. 😁
You said you purchased the digital panorama and made it available to people?
This was originally posted on a private group so that is who I shared an excerpt with for a brief time. My apologies for the confusion.
Nice! Thanks brother
I recently got this bible
I'm looking for my first premium bible and came across this one on Christian books. After seeing this video, I'm even more inclined to purchase. Great review.
I've preordered this Bible. I can't wait to receive it!
After being n the fence about KJV versus other versions, and struggling with the olde English of the King James, I realized this was all a nonsense distraction from the true purpose of all this: to love Gods word and to really get into this way of life! I'm keeping my King James but not clinging to it. I dig my NIV as that's the one my childhood pastor gave to me upon confirmation! I bought Courage For Life just the other day, looking forward to this, thanks for this helpful review!
I had similar thoughts since the church that we went to when I was younger was KJV. When I returned to Christ I discovered other versions that I ABSOLUTELY love to read. Mainly the ESV, CSB, and NLT. Each have their strengths, but my first bible I purchased for myself was a NLT. -Charles
Loved your Review! I plan to purchase this Study Bible. I have the hardcover of the Courage For Life Study Bible for Women, and I absolutely love it. the app is what really makes this Study Bible a joy to use for studies. I noticed that the layout is exactly the same in the Men's Study Bible. The difference is the Profiles -- yours has men, and mine has women. Enjoy your day, and maybe you'll have more Reviews soon. New Subscriber! 🤓
Thank you. My wife has one as well, I do love the layout. This has become my prayer bible. I have some more reviews filming over this week. Be on the look out when they post this weekend.
Tthank you for your info presentation 😊

I just picked one up today. I like the handling of the passages Calvinists use. I like the way the study notes state that some believe this, and some believe that. It doesn't take a stand. it just states the facts. So both reformed (Calvinist) and non-reformed Christians can use this comfortably. As well as its handling of the millennium in Revelation 20. It states the three views A-, Pre-, and Post- without taking a hard stance.
Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to pick one of these up. Black letter and small is what I'm looking for!
I’ve been taking this with me as my current every day carry to see how well it handles. So far the leather and gilding has been holding up really well. It will pick up some light scratching here and there (character marks), but just like any of the calf skins you can expext it to last for quite a while. I think you will definitely enjoy it.
God review thanks
