I like how you skipped everyone but yourself.... here's a thought... Waukesha North wasn't the only band that competed, thus the other bands deserve some recognition... just sayin. But you guys had a great show this year! :)

As a Chippewa Falls grad, i can say that you definitely have one of the cleanest high school batteries in the state. Those years of rebuilding were definitely worth it for the percussion section. Finish strong at state!!

Drum solo = fail (our snare solo sounded like SHIT) atleast we did at state....oh we got a 9.3 and won, thats right

oh yeah, that decent bass line, just got to point out, i was on the bass line, we were all new to marching and to bass drum that year. just saying. thanks for the decent.

I think that we did really good in this preformance, I play the alto saxophone and I'm happy you posted this to give me a chance to look at how I march and what I need to fix, it's really easy to find yourself in these videos. I'll subscribe so I can see more of our preformaces.

norths drumline is awesome (except for that one tennor player who stopped...) there snare line is clean, the tenor (the one who didnt stop) is good, and the bass line is decent yeah go north

I am sorry you were bored but I certainly do appreciate your reference of our show to one of the best shows (and highest scoring) in DCI history

i thought North had a very impressive preformance, but considering the fact that i am just starting marching this year (for North as a Base Clairnet) i dont know much about anything, comands, formations,figures,halts,and anything of that sort. personally i think that north and west are pretty even bands, but in the judges eyes North just came out on top as #1 for this year. Congradulations to all bands and good luck next year.

I do completely understand your frustrations as we have had them on more then one occasion in the not so distant past. However, watch some DCI or BOA for awhile and take note of the directions competitive marching units are taking. It is a whole different ballgame now then it was 10 or even 5 years ago. Not only must perfection be constantly pursued, but innovation as well.

If you think for an instant that we pay the judges, you are challenging the integrity of the entire Northstar Band Program, Waukesha music in general and the Wisconsin State Music Association. This is not something that you want to be doing seeing as how you are a member of two of those three groups.

Yea our drumline can't play, our drill is easy and we suck. Unfortunately for you we also beat you in every caption.

More flaming XD (and I am talking about all sides) When I sat down and counted everybody, I only counted some of the more significant stuff so I may have left out a couple in each of the bands. And to qualify the conversation going on right now, no matter who wins, there will always be rumors abundant wherever someone is there to listen. BTW, it is called "Copland's Promise" as in the composer Aaron Copland

Oh and I forgot, the judging is completely subjective so listening what one panel has to say on one night is a bad representation of who is better. That being said, North has won every competition and most caption awards in the last 2 years. However, the fact that West takes everything else is a tribute to the pure greatness of Waukesha music programs. All South, West and North do the city proud each and every year.

Now, that all being said, North's goal wasn't to beat West. We simply strive for perfection and the best show possible. If that lands us in last place, it doesn't matter so long as it is the best we can do. Winning is simply a result of our attitude of going out and trying to be the best we can be. We also love to congratulate others on their success because when it comes down to it, we are all in band together. West had an amazing show which scored over 90 points and that is spectacular!

I also watched North West and Oak Creek and counted the number of time each band was halted or halted while playing and how many times each band did visuals... West: Halts-16 Visuals-8 North: Halts-14 Visuals-17 Oak Creek: Halts-20 Visuals-8 so by these statistics we could deduce that north parks and plays less yet has more visuals. I could be wrong but when I saw West the first time I noticed a lot more movement so maybe you took some out over the course of the season, idk.

listen for all the eighth and sixteenth note runs the various sections play. I understand that West has music written for them every year and I am by no means the definitive knowledge on music but listening to your show I heard many whole, half and quarter notes. This hardly makes for very interesting music.

Now for colorguard, you must have missed the part where the rifle line tossed a 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 as well as where they all threw a 3. O yea, the whole guard all tossed cubes, poles and used frames as well. Crescendos and contrast happens all throughout the show and actually the part where we are turning around, we don't actually play so how are we supposed to crescendo that? Btw, the music we used is grade 5, which is the hardest music a band can buy.

Ok well by everyone in the stands you probably mean all the West parents, because spectators of other bands were coming up and congratulating North for the awesome show we performed. As far as drill is concerned, yes we are tired of pods and will most likely request next year to not have them but we asked our drill to be written at a drum corps level this year. Yes we make lines in movements were the drill should feel hard but if you watch the ballad you would see all the arced formations...

yeah they suck, probably why they won at dc everest and merrill, and took both drum and color guard trophies...probly

Ouch is right. The rumors i heard were true. Not the Waukesha north from last year, that's for sure. It is early in the season, but they've got some ground to cover. I personally liked the ballad more. But Waukesha West might not be as good, either. It's anyone's game at this point.
