Swapping out the dash pad trim piece is an easy one, can be done in 10 minutes or less. You will need a 7mm socket, extension and ratchet or a 7mm nut driver and a trim removal tool. (you can get a 3 piece set on amazon for under $10)...... steps are below. If you have carbon trim around the radio that will need to be taken off first to gain access. I used a heat gun on low and heated it up just for a few seconds to help it loosen up and it popped right off.
1) Remove the small trim piece around the radio buttons and knob.
2) There will be one 7mm nut on both sides once the trim piece is gone, remove those.
3) Lift base of radio up and it will basically fall out/down, there are 2 plastic clips holding it in on the top side.
4) Once radio is hanging down, it will expose the 3rd and final 7mm hex bolt holding the dash piece. Remove that, it will be up in the top right hand corner where the radio is/the top left corner of the dash trim you will be removing.
5) With the trim removal tool careful start to pry between the dash and the trim piece you will be removing. Start from the center opening that is now exposed with the radio gone. Do a section on top and then on the bottom, once you have some separation start working your way out towards the A/C vent/door. Once you get far enough out and all clips popped it will easily come out.
6) Now reinstall in the reverse order making sure to put the hex bolt back in the trim piece ... and to slide the forward clips of the radio in first before putting it into position and securing with the hex bolts.
