Can you save files, say from a pen drive to the Chromebook and access them freely like we do on other pc's

What are the oval shaped ones called? Like settings, Google drive, chrome, gmail, and UA-cam above the pins? One of my families laptops got hacked into and we don’t know how to delete a link in that area

Google Drive is not shown in my chromebook Files app. I already unchecked "Disconnect Google Drive" in the settings and browser reset. But the Google Drive is still not shown. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
