I cannot wait for the Barry Bonds Documentary to come out so he can set the record straight. But there is nothing to set straight with me. Nobody brought more joy to the fans of San Francisco than Barry Lamar Bonds. Not even during 3 WS Titles did Pac Bell/ATT/SBC/Oracle Park light up like during the Bonds years. And for those who always bring up PEDs. Ask the pitchers who walked him 872 times (306 intentional) in a five year period. Ask the media who voted for him 7 times as NL MVP even though it was an open secret that he used Performance Enhancing substance. And last but not least, ask the fans who flooded McCovey Cove with boats, kayaks, nets, jumping into the water games after game after game just for the chance to get a ball. Bonds was “1 of 1” and there will never be another player like him. Not Shohei, not Judge, not Soto. He is a HOF’er in my book.
