Our border was very easy to train. Had one or two mishaps as a pup and nothing more. We lived in an apartment aswell. Just made some rules about it. Always a walk when he woke up, after playtime and after eating and before bed. Took two weeks. After that he got the daily 4 walks. 2 of them being longer ones, minimum 30 minutes.

Best dogs ever. When I was a small kid we brougth a border terrier into our family. We grew up together and when i was 20 we sadly had to let him pass away.
You have a beautiful dog there. Border Terriers, just about the best dog breed on the planet.

Must be harder in an apartment. We moved house when my girl was about 3yrs old. We didn't have a lawn only a courtyard in our new house. She wouldn't go on it, so we ended up taking her on the grass verge outside our property. She eventually decided to use a gravel patch behind our conservatory!

Our Border terrier is called Sedge, nearly nine weeks old now so a little behind Remi but nice to be able to compare.
Just soooooo sweet. It brings back my memories of my Border Terrier Auggie when I first brought him home. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES ! They grow up way too fast. Mine is now almost 7 years old…….. and he is 37 lbs !

Why do you put Remi in a cage?
Crate training. Helps inforce naps a break and a safe space for dogs when you can't watch them or be at home with them.
Great dog for hunting rats, tough, strong, a typical terrier. But don’t leave them with a cat because the cat will be history.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Border terriers are the most beautiful doggo! My dad had a border when he was young and they've been in our family ever since. ❤️
Out of curiosity do u think the use the cage is helpful for training purpose? I'm thinking to get a Border Terrier. Nice video.
The cage is crucial for training, check out the McCan dogs videos on youtube!

Her first collar was about 20cm from end to end, hope this helps :)
@@remitheborder Thank you. I'm trying to figure out what neck size so I can figure out what size collar to have for future pup's arrival. I may just have to wait and measure when they get here and make one real quick. Thank you!
My advice would be to get a basic adjustable one for the first 3-4 months as they outgrow it quickly. Remi started at about 20cm and her final collar finished at 31cm from buckle catch to end of buckle. Bear in mind that the thickness of the collar also makes a difference. Every 1cm doesnt sound like a lot but it makes a big difference in length

thank you very much for your video, We want to get a small dog though living in an appartement on 4.th floor . One of os is home alle day. Ive read a lot about Border terrier as a bread and had doubts. But Watching you and Remi s 24 hours it now seems realistic for us. We are 400 meters from a forrest ( dogs allowed) and a beach with grass areas

Cool vid, but you should change to "House Trained" not "Toilet Trained". With your title and thumbnail, I was expecting tips for actually TOILET training. Also, people don't want to read on a video. Video would be even better with some narration

I lost my Bella in August of this year and today would've been her 14th.
I'm so sorry, it's hard losing a good family friend. Both our Yorkies were 13, and our Freddy the Border Terrier is 13 in July. He's quite sprightly still but I dread the day we lose him. He still causes laughter every day! But this time there will be no replacement hound when dear Freddy meets his maker as I think it unfair if in old age yourself you can't give them the huge amount of exercise they require to keep them perky.

I remember our first border, we took her to an obedience class. The trainer took a look at him and said, “Oh…a border…” ☹️. We found out what she meant, he had a mind of his own.
