Woolicombe to Bull Point Lighthouse
Woolicombe to Bull Point Lighthouse
I absolutely love travelling along challenging rugged coastlines. Fresh sea breeze in my face, unfamiliar ground underfoot and uncertainty of what the weather will throw out. Experiences like this I find exhilarating and really fun.
Was at a loose end so filmed my short journey from Woolicombe to Bull Point Lighthouse. Can highly recommend it if you are in the area. My footage does not do this wonderful coastline any justice. It is something a person has to experience to fully appreciate the wonders nature.
Have you been walking along the Southwest Costal Path?
I am open to recommendations.

Bought some Costco burgers and they reminded me of a Wimpy cheese burger I had as a kid so decided to make my own. Bun mix (well bun ish) I made from a Gluten Free mix of 50g buckwheat flour and 50g Dove Farm bread flour mixed in with a little bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar to give it some rise and and egg to bind it together. Also threw in a few dried herbs for fun. Enjoyable little o...

First impressions were really positive considering I purchased this with a titanium alcohol stove for very little money as they were in the Amazon sale. @KarlsQuest Hi, Final Cut and have started using music from Epidemic Sound. Used to use Luma Fusion for editing with an iPad but had to upgrade to a MacBook as need the additional processing power and memory. Recently signed up to Epidemic sound as used to use Artlist and Luma Fusion. Have found Epidemic better with more choice. Although Final Cut is not perfect it offers huge scope in editing. There is a lot to learn and I have only scratched the surface really. The way I am learning on it is to spend the time learning something new on each video to build up a knowledge base, this should lead to a quicker workflow. Hope that answers your question 👍

    I use a Chinese steel canteen that comes with a lid in tandem with the mk2 cooker. Cheaper and thinner steel than the crusader but still fine and thinner is lighter and quicker boiling time.

    I don't understand why guys like yourself insist on having to reach down into the windscreen to get access to the burner for lighting the fuel, snuffing out the fuel, adjusting the simmer ring etc.. That windscreen upper section has a quick twist out of the way function. Remove the upper windscreen and you have clear and wide open access to the burner minimizing your chances of being burned. The Trangia is a hard burner to blow out so even with the upper ring of the windscreen removed it will still keep burning long enough for you to get the upper ring back on again after making your adjustments. You don't try to light a kerosene lamp by inserting a match down the chimney......you lift the chimney and light from the bottom. The Trangia is just as simple and made that way for a reason.

    The 240 is probably not enough for that hot pot unit but it should work on the Jackery 300 on the low hot pot setting. I wonder if it's labeled incorrectly at 150 watts.. We have a Jackery 300 and used a small hotpot called My Mini. It drew just over 200 watts and worked! It's too small for general use though, and I want to get my mom an emergency Jackery set up. I'm hoping the Jackery 300 will work on this type of unit.

    Do you know if I can fit the Trangia chopping board in the 25 cook set, whilst also having the GSI kettle? That’s the ultimate cook set. Just about to purchase the 25 Duossal, it’s twice the price of the aluminium set but stainless steel all the way for me.

    • @InfoZhedExplore
      @InfoZhedExplore 27 днів тому

      Hi, they are meant to re-saturate and reuse. Idea is good but practicality is poor, really soft material and a lot of hassle from my experience. Better to stick with traditional alcohol stove. Great question 👍

      Hi, I bought a decathlon air mat www.decathlon.co.uk/p/trekking-inflatable-mattress-mt900-air-insulator-xl-195-x-63-cm-1-person/_/R-p-324583 best mat I have owned. The caveat is that although it works for me it may not work for you. The MT 900 is deep and rather will insulated I have been using this for a few months and find it really comfortable. Only downside I found is that when letting some air out to get the comfort level to suit me a person has to be careful not to pull the stopper out or it rapidly deflates. As a side sleeper I really enjoy the support under my hip and do not touch the floor. Quality outdoor kit is quite expensive so make sure you research thoroughly before purchasing. Not sure this has helped and good luck with your search 👍

    Sounds like a bot of stove bashing is in order. Cut the top bit down and maybe strips of some sort of can slid over the body to control the airflow. You may even get the thing to have variable flame and be able to simmer. Other than that the bin awaits. 🔨 🗑

  • @oxxnarrdflame8865

    I don’t care for that design, it’s way too top heavy for the small base/diameter. With a full pot on It looks to easy to topple the whole thing.

    Had a set for years and the only things I disliked about it was as you said, a little on the bulky side and the stick up part in the bottom of the mug, I'm sure it's to help the water boil faster but it was annoying when you were doing more than boiling water. Rather than that slight annoyance I really liked it. It went missing at some point and the cheap replacement pot I got turned out to be good for what I wanted so the C2 was never replaced.

    I own several wood gasification stoves made by Solo Stove, Goshawk and Toaks. Of those three the Toaks, that shares the same design as the Lixada you reviewed, is by far my least used. The open bottom makes it a fire hazard and it is too tall and prone to tip over. I agree 100% with your critique of the design!

    • @InfoZhedExplore
      @InfoZhedExplore Місяць тому

      I also have a couple of Solo Stoves and a no name brand that is broadly similar but packs down smaller and all perform really well. For me too the Lixada is the least used as after trying it out a few times decided it is not something I would take out on a proper adventure 👍

    Never been much impressed by the Mk 2 personally. I have the MK1. Which I'm extremely happy with. I also have the plastic lid. Brought that out of curiosity. Thought it would melt. Pleasantly surprised when it didn't. I take your point about plastics and cooking although I'm mostly using mine to boil water. I'm strictly alcohol stove with it these days as Fire Dragon is definitely overpriced, and I've done my lifetime share of cleaning hexamine off things. I'd quite strongly recommend the Polymath Product stove to anyone like myself who wants a straight boil in minimum time. If you want to get more complicated than that you'll probably have to get a bit more creative. 😁
