Thanks so much! It was a full-on year+ of effort back then, and I'll likely have a few months-worth more once KHIV drops and I redo the III vid for Re Mind and all the games/content I didn't get to cover post-March '19, so I'm happy people can run across these even years later and enjoy the ride! Makes it all worth it.

It'd be nice to have either another "Movie" installment a la Back Cover, or a full-on remake in some capacity for when Missing-Link arrives.

I've always been a big fan of the series showing giving in too much to anything is bad, even when you lose yourself to light. Gotta love characters with major faults that they themselves can realize was a mistake.

Comments like these make that almost-constantly-full year of work all worth it in the end, especially in the lead-up to a game nobody had played yet, so I was trying my best to be the best sort of comprehensive recap/guide I could be. Hopefully I can pick up like nothing happened the closer we get to KHIV and I redo my III video for the Re Mind content and an actual retrospective take, plus all the games that lead up to IV I haven't done yet.

Thanks! Still around, but I likely won't be back updating the KH videos, specifically redoing KHIII for the Re Mind content and all the games since then, until KHIV is closer. Been meaning to do some other series I've started and wanted to begin, but haven't found the time quite yet. All in due time, and kind words like yours means it was all worth it in the end!

I plan on it! It's intended to replace this current KHIII Retrospective cuz I got a few minor things wrong on the gameplay side I didn't catch at the time, plus the audio got weird during the rendering of it and I didn't have the heart to redo it all at the time! The plan is to use that Re Mind footage to "final mix" this one and have it completed ideally around the next big KH game drops, which would be Missing-Link before IV gets a proper release date, whenever either ends up being released, alongside covering Melody of Memory and going over the other smartphone games I started but weren't finished when III dropped, namely Unchained χ and Dark Road. Happy you enjoyed the ride so far! These are fun to make, if time consuming for months at a time, but the fact people can still enjoy them years later as a sort of recap, to learn something they may not've caught before, or just enjoy hearing someone go into obsessive detail about a game, I call that a win and well worth the time and effort they take.

@GazKnightofNylrac I'd love to see it! Hopefully it isn't a stupidly long time before more game updates! I also hope that any non numbered titles moving forward aren't on obscure platforms, it's time to keep them all universally on ps5

Thanks a lot for the reminders! I had this video written and made within two months of the launch, and it shows with how many little things slipped through the cracks in those early playthroughs. I'll definitely have a more well-rounded review in terms of my thoughts years later, like most of the other games at the time, and with more accurate and updated info regarding the mechanics.

@@GazKnightofNylrac i would also like to point out that you do terra-xehanort and vanitas before you fight saix/isa. make a little more sense that way.

I actually intend to! I was already going to redo my KHIII video eventually because A, the game is now "complete" with it's Final Mix-esque version in Re Mind out for years now, and B, because my audio on that video went crazy during the rendering process and I didn't have the heart to redo it all then and there when I knew I'd be doing it over for the inevitable DLC. So the plan is to do the big KHIIIReM video followed by Melody of Memory since it acts as an Epilogue of sorts to Re Mind, followed by a double bill of both Union χ as its story is now complete and Dark Road, since it's tied to that game and both help lead into the inevitable Missing-Link. Happy others keep finding these videos, especially this one since Union χ wasn't done at the time III released and that some wanna see my updated thoughts and full recap of the story now that it's finished and we've moved on to The Lost Masters Arc.

That is correct! It's part of the weird quirk with how they assigned the Battle Levels there, where Sora clearly is meant to see Xemnas first in PP before The Grid, just something that happened to me and likely others who use the Levels to determine the order, despite how they present it to you on the Map and for story purposes.

Umm, no, she's still alive. Even today, she still is, AFAIK. She's simply replaced because, well, she has become WAY too old to convincingly play Alice and Wendy anymore (she was 64 when KH1 came out). She voiced Kairi's grandma in Birth by Sleep, and it definitely suited her age much better.

I intend to! I'm planning on doing a "Final Mix" of the Kingdom Hearts III video to add in all DLC and Re:Mind stuff now that the game's "finished" for now (and cuz the audio went nuts in my original video and I didn't have the heart to redo it all after a month of working on it, haha). After that, I plan on a video covering Union χ that focuses on both the story to recap everything χ-relatedm, and also likely combining it with a Dark Road review to keep it bundled like the games are/were. After that I only need to add Melody of Memory and I'll be caught up until we've got Missing-Link "finished" and/or up until Kingdom Hearts IV drops in a few years. Dunno when I'll get to these, but I wanted to do it this Winter if I end up having the time!

That's BEEN on the schedule as well! I'm a big FF fan, but IRL things distracted me from getting on that beginning last year, so at this point I might wait until I get KH done and take the FF games at their own pace. It is why I've got gameplay vids of various mainline FFs up of me refreshing my memory of them in preparation for a project that'll take quite a few years to pull off effectively. Thanks for also thinking that series is worth my time dissecting!

I figured people would assume if someone makes a 9+ hour video on something that they actually care about what they're talking about, especially when I'm gonna redo the video and update it for Re Mind! As far as the specifics of Keyblades go, that's something they've been coy about since the beginning, and it'd be nice to have more clear-cut rules on their abilities and how they function, to the point you can upgrade or straight-up forge them like Moogles can. It makes sense you can "power them up" but straight-up getting new ones? Explain, Nomura! But thanks again! I hope my upcoming trio of videos will keep up the same quality, if not better, than the ones I did leading up to III's original release! Just gotta wait until Dark Road is released and finished so I can make sure my scripts and thoughts on Re Mind, Melody of Memory and all of the χ saga are up-do-date as of what's looking like early 2022 for those.

Likely around this Autumn! Looking like they'll be closer to October/November, since I finally have a PS5 obviously for Intergrade here, but I have also recently gotten a new microphone for clearer audio recordings on my end, so the upgrade in technology was a big reason for the year+ delay on continuing any of my retrospective videos. The current idea is to re-record KHIII for smoother Re Mind footage as I've got that revised script mostly complete since it's a refresh on the original video with better information and the new stuff ReM added and changed. Plus I'd like more recent footage to showcase the additions and changes made that I don't currently have on the channel as well as taking advantage of the PS5's boost in performance power because why not at this point. Since I've waited this long, I was also holding out to see when Union X Dark Road would be completed, and Melody of Memory dropped between waiting to see if any of those would affect my thoughts/details on Re Mind. And since the story of Union χ is now finally completed, all that's left is Dark Road which is set to be a done deal around September. Because I don't need to record any of my own footage of Union χ Dark Road and I already have most of the Melody of Memory footage on the channel I need barring a few gameplay features and one added cutscene alteration since it released, I'm now waiting on Dark Road to finish and experience myself so I can cover all four games within one month to finally wrap up those Dark Seeker Saga videos and officially transition into whatever 2nd Phase of Kingdom Hearts we're now in. So while I'll likely have a majority of the gameplay footage done well before September, October's the earliest I'd be putting out the KHIIIReM video just in case Dark Road adds some context or details to my thoughts and thus script. I'd then follow up the ReM retrospective with MoM's video since it's essentially an epilogue to KHIIIReM and then round them off by covering the then-complete and finished KHUχDR storylines shortly afterwards, so likely three videos dropping throughout October, November at the absolute latest since I won't need to record a ton of footage myself. Thanks for asking for an update and being patient with me!

Re:coded uses a unique piano version in II.5, but the one I picked for my video during that segment is the version from the Drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura album, which is the version they also used in the trailers for Days!
