It is important that it is heat resistant.

I've taken apart many cars so far and I've never had that problem with the airbags deploying. I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's almost impossible to activate the airbags while removing the headliner. You can remove the battery clamp just in case.

@VDEdition1 Sure was! Just completed my repair which main goal was to shut the curtain. Turned out the stuck curtain partitions were missing couple of slider blocks and were derailed completely. I did not bother with slider repair kit for this particular vehicle though it would have been smart since the dissassembly is is quite cumbersome.

You need to take a little more material than the dimensions of the headliner itself because you have to turn the edges over. The width is sufficient at 1.4m, and the length, for example, for a Touran, is 2.5m.

I'm not sure, you'll have to check!

I think I know what you're talking about. When you want to insert the c-pillar into the lower part of the black plastic in the trunk, one tab gets in the way. Take a scalpel and cut that tab and then you'll be able to insert the c-pillar with no problem. Try it and let me know if you succeeded..

Thanks again. That's how they do assembly in the factory, and you will have to too if you don't want to have problems during assembly. Each individual element has a plastic backing that holds it in place. When you insert the headliner, it is almost impossible to insert the plastic later and try to make it fit. Don't ask how I know :D E.g. handles, you can see on the video ua-cam.com/video/l3Q4rjDTMuc/v-deo.html that when I remove the handle, a piece of plastic falls out from behind the headliner... and that's it. Both the front and rear central lights have wires, which are disconnected at the connector during disassembly. I didn't have to change anything because nothing is broken and it's not complicated ;)

There is a metal wire behind the seat that is attached to the chassis of the car. Use the flashlight to see exactly where the hitch is and then you'll be able to unhook it. There is a possibility that someone has already tried to detach it before, so maybe it is crooked and it can be more difficult to disassemble. Good luck with the works.

The metal hooks are placed on the headliner and that's how the factory mounts it in the car. You need to separate the headliner from those hooks with a plastic crowbar. Feel free, you can't break anything.

At the first opportunity, I will record changing the light bulbs. I thought it was simple and there was no need to record it.

I bought the foam backed upholstery material from a local supplier. I prepared and painted the plastic parts, and the glue is Dunlop LP. Thank you for your comment!

I didn't remove the battery, because the airbags don't activate so easily. A connection had to be made at the installation to activate them. You can take it off for prevention, but I'm telling you my experience. I've dismantled hundreds of them so I know.

If you mean the pillars, I didn't remove the factory material because it was in perfect condition so I glued over it.

Avant is Audi's name for the station wagon body. The universal names are van or station wagon. There is no mistake, whichever one I use! Let's take as an example websites that sell cars. When you filter the search to station wagon body there is the option wagon or kombi, there is no option avant anywhere!

I used the original material for headliners with foam and it says on the roll gray color, there is no special marking.

The seats are original, they are just upholstered. I bought all the LED equipment at a local electronics store, and I cut these panels on a cnc machine and installed them in the headliner.

It's very likely that someone broke it trying to take it off and that's why they stuck it on. It is removed by pulling out the opposite side of the switch, and as soon as it is pulled out, it is very easy to remove. Unfortunately I forgot to record it :/
