Thanks, Six Stringer. I've had almost no practice time for many months. Trying to get back my precision. It's easy to take one's hard-earned level of skill for granted until one gets out of practice.

During this still early period in learning and performing music, I was devoting a great deal of effort and attention to developing basic rhythm guitar skills, but these performances at Thunder Road are critical moments in my development as an artist because this is when I first began to experience some real spontaneity as a performer. In other words, when performing music actually started to become musicality and FUN. Unfortunately for me, the pandemic interrupted my maturation in this promising experience towards solid technical proficiency and full spontaneity on stage.

Thank you very much, G_b_@_40, for appreciating my efforts. Bob Seger's songs all seem to have just the right balance of depth and liveliness to makes the experience of practicing them a heartfelt pleasure.

I think Rick Nelson was an outstanding musician with both great rhythm and a great voice. His very rare brand of smooth, easy-going musical performance talent, unlike Sinatra's version of the same, remained somewhat shy of full-recognition, due to his "Ozzie & Harriet" little Ricky TV image that was indelibly ingrained in the public mind. Yet he enjoyed one great compensatory advantage over his rock n' roll musical colleagues. Elvis was loved by the kids, but not by the parents. Pat Boone was loved by the parents, but not by the kids. But Ricky's image was poised just right, between Elvis and Pat, and he was loved by all!

Wow! I had completely forgotten about this performance. I was between my third and fourth year of learning to sing and to play a guitar -from the very beginning - right up on stages in front of sitting audiences and "under the gun", so to speak. It was a terrifying act of self-discipline to learn music that way, but also great fun. Started on stage at age 60 in 2011, singing solo "a cappella"s with no instrumental accompaniment and no music experience or background at all.

@@jameswaugh8339 yep I remember when I started my band, I kept practicing how to.play and sing while standing up for long periods of time lol! Up to that point I always sat when I played solo. Now at my age with back problems I could never stand with my guitar that long like I used to in the band lol!.

George is an extraordinarily talented musician. He had never heard this song and had not the slightest idea where I was going with it -except by way of his raw musical intuition. Amazing guitarist and improvisor!! He did the same quality of accompaniment with my Sam Cooke three-song medley that same night.

Thanks for listening,, Bill. "Little Miss Blue"(1960) is one of Dion's earliest solo recordings, going back almost to what Bob Seger calls "the ancient middle 50s..." It was on one of the first Dion albums I owned as a kid. I think that song may even precede "Lonely Teenager." I know and have performed repeatedly about 15 original Dion songs. Many of those renditions are on UA-cam; some are better performances than others, depending upon when I did them. However, "Little Miss Blue" is not one of the ones I've learned. How is it that you happened to think of that particular song?

@@jameswaugh8339 Hi Jim, I'm a Dion fan and I like what you do with his stuff.There was a guy a few years ago that posted some of his covers of Dion's songs and one of them was "Little miss blue" he did a good job with it. I play around with the guitar a little. I think you would do a good job with it. It has a good feel. Thanks for your music!
