@fishinbite the 2 channels we refer too is the St kilda channel and the outer harbour shipping channel. The st kilda channel is frim the boat ramp to end of breakwater and a no anchor zone we troll lures on the way out the outer harbour also is no anchor zone but can anchor on the outsides of it. Be aware and watchful if you fish outer harbour as its for the big container ships and if they do pass through there's always big waves off their ships

@fishinbite yes mate it's about halfway out the whiting will begin to slow off now as it warms up we are about 30metres outside the channel it's a spot called the coral patch

@ honestly just basics like stuff to look out for that fish might hang etc structure weed what fish look like on the sounder. Me and my dad just put our money together and bought our first boat so we are both learning a lot stuff thanks in advance!

@fishinbite thanks mate we drifted for salmon chasing the schools as they move quickly the rest came at anchor with a berley stream of whiting pellets and small bits of fresh salmon scraped into the water for a while

@one_lastcast_fishing-zt6vx we did notice last trip out they have put some new temp markers out there when we get in the boat next trip out there will post up the spot. We're you in the channel or out of it we fish outside of the channel and cast towards it on the outgoing tide fish the north side incoming fish the south side. There is some big snapper sharks and rays in there 2

There is lots of broken bottom weedy patches between the black pole to bastard pole and between black pole to outer harbour breakwater. We spent a long time drifting alot of the areas and finding good bottom and when you catch fish on the drift mark the spot go back over to it
