    first of all, there are 7 buttons on the mx master 3 as well. and how... did you manage to completely omit the fact that the biggest feature of mx master 3 is the magnetic ratchet? the transition from the ratchet to free-scroll is seamless and absolutely premium. and no mouse in existence has been able to replicate that feeling. period. not to mention how the mx master 3 does that by measuring the intensity of the push of the scroll wheel.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube 9 днів тому

      I will admit that when I was writing my review, I kind of overlooked the features of the scroll wheel on the MX Master 3. For me, I’m mostly just missing the infinite scroll wheel function on the Rapoo (which I made a small note of when displaying the score). That being said, the magnetic ratchet on my MX Master 3 stopped working so long ago that I literally forgot it ever existed 😂 Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼

    I have had an MX Master for literally over a decade (I'm a software engineer). I have two right now, one for WFH and one for the office. Brilliant. My mouse for gaming is a Logitech G502X and the G is better for sure, it's also frustrating as heck. I prefer the Master handsdown (pun intended) for comfort and fit to my hand. I wish Logi made the G502X inside the Master 3S body. A sleeper build if you will. The only reason I have a gaming mouse is because the bluetooth in my rig stutters so gameplay is trash with the MX Master 3S (now. It used to work fine). Previously I'd just use the button switch between laptop and desktop.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube Місяць тому

      I definitely understand that. It might be worth it for you to check out the Keychron M6, or something else in that category. I found the M6 to be a perfect blend of both worlds, where it has the speed and connectivity of the G502, and the comfort of the Master. But it does come with a few major sacrifices of its own, most of all being the lack of a premium feel. But if you’re willing to live with a mouse that’s a bit plastic-y, it’s honestly a great find. And I’m sure there are others out there in that category.

    • @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube
      @AlexTalksTechOnYouTube Місяць тому

      That’s a fair point. Though to be honest, I’d say that anyone that has a working phone with at least a year more to go before it stops working, I’d recommend waiting for next years iPhones anyway for two reasons: 1) It’s likely to be a more substantial upgrade, due to the cyclical nature of iPhone releases. 2) We wouldn’t be rewarding a company for making tiny incremental changes (which I did mention in the video), and for releasing a product which doesn’t even have the features you’ve advertised (Apple Intelligence). But yeah, I could’ve been more clear about that in the video. Thanks for the feedback!

    • @sportschad
      @sportschad 2 місяці тому

      @@AlexTalksTechOnUA-cam Well, the dedicated G-Shift key and the placement of it is key to its productivity power. After that I basically have at least 24 programmable functions on that "full sized keyboard" alone only using G-Shift. If I use Logitech's Lua feature that can integrate the modifiers on the keybaord, you're looking at like what...more than 96 programmable functions? Maybe more. I tried it before using a co-worker's G600, once it's set up, the productivity power of the G600 just has no equal, it's still doesn't to this day. When it comes to video editing, 3D rendering, photo editing, general office works, probably not so much with coding. You can work while you f*p, with some exceptions. Only gripe I had on making me get one for myself is that it has no infinite scroll which can annoy me sometimes when I'm coding. So I stuck with my G502, which also has G-Shift/Lua set up, so I have like 50+ available programmable functions per application.

    I have my charging cables attached under the desktop. I pull them out for charging.

      That’s a great solution as well! I’m probably gonna do that once I switch out the desk at some point!

    I wonder how M6 in shape holds up against the Cherry 8C ergo. (But if we looking at spec wise I still gonna get the M6 4K. totally worth the 110 imo) Also node for AUTOCAD workers with 4k panels, you want your pointing device to run the same refresh rate as screen (pollen rate to resolution of display) to minimalise jitter and such in workflow. Just adding this as a casual amateur gamer and database engineer

      What mouse do you recommend if I mostly use things like excel autocad revit civil 3d and casually games?

      That’s an interesting point about working on 4K panels. I still think for most people it makes more sense to get the regular 1K M6, but I see how there might be some actual benefits to the 4K version. I guess I’m just struggling with the overall concept of buying a more expensive version of a thing that’s meant to be a budget option, if you know what I mean. I’ve never tried a Cherry mouse before. Maybe I should check out the 8C Ergo, or one of their other ones 🤔

    Since you mentioned those Grovemade desk pads, it's about $20 in materials and less than an hour of labor to made your own custom desk pad. Get a roll of thin cork, a yard or so of wool felt (which is small enough that you might find it in the discounted scraps bin), and a can of spray adhesive from the fabric store. Cut the cork to size, spray with adhesive, and attach it to the felt. Cut mitered edges in the felt with a utility knife and wrap and adhere them to the bottom. Looks and feels great, and is custom fitted to your own desk.

      That actually sounds like an interesting thing to do! I wonder how much time, effort and money it would take to DIY the entire Grovemade accessory lineup 🤔 But making a desk pad like this sounds like a good place to start 👍🏼

    How comfortable is it? Anything that makes it less comfortable than desired?

      Is the mesh soft or coarse?

      The mesh is pretty soft, and pretty comfortable to lean back on. The chair is actually pretty comfortable overall, but I do wish it had better lumbar support (the one it has works fine, but it just feels less sturdy and pronounced than I would like). I also would’ve liked for the reclining function to have adjustable tension, but for this price range, that’s not a thing you see often.

      @@AlexTalksTechOnUA-cam would you say the seat cushioning has softened up a bit from when you first bought the chair?
