Totally understand with the whole waitlist and decline issue for conventions, especially as a crafter! Holiday Matsuri is the first convention I've gotten into that wasn't first come, first serve. If you just want conventions to go to, I highly suggest the Galaxycon/Animate ones. They're all first come, first serve so you can pretty easily get a table and once you're in you can rebook for the next year.

I hear a LOT of artists say that gaming conventions don't go well for them unless they have specific gaming merchandise. Don't feel bad! Greta job staying positive through a scary experience! A slow con high expenses can be very anxiety inducing. 😖

If you are looking into doing prints, I know 5 x 7"s are a good size for smaller/postcard size and are easier for self-serve and probably for starting off (they are also a good size for sticker sheets if you're inclined to try those out), but standard (8.5 x 11") and legal size (11 x 17") are also perfectly acceptable with legal being a little more common. That being said, I'm glad you broke even! If you feel like trying out a different event at the GWCC, there are quite a few other fan-culture events held there, but Florida in general is also a large hub for conventions

I'm so glad it went well for you! Your sewing part of the video was very enjoyable and love your sweet kitty helpers! And YES I agree I have sold at conventions before and they been ok at the table "so far." BUT walking around with one of my plush I've had random people think it's ok to come up and just grab or handle my plush without asking. They could've really ruined my plush or got it really dirty! People need to keep their hands to themselves and respect the craft! Especially if they're not planning on buying it.
