Do film cameras elicit more cooperation by subjects in street photography than digicams?
Переглядів 35Рік тому
THE SHUTTER GOES CLICK A recent attempt to shoot street photographs with a Canon SD780 IS digicam got me thinking about my old film cameras and how the embolden me. When holding a small digicam, I felt too shy to ask strangers if I could take their portrait. I blog (sometimes) about cameras and taking pictures here: theshuttergoesclick.blogspot.com/

Father's Day camera mod: taking two shots with a working Lego Instax Mini
Переглядів 5016 років тому
Received two Diana F 's with instant film backs as an early Father's Day gift. But today, this Sunday, I had a chance to tinker. I have plans for the Diana lenses but what I really wanted was the pair of instant backs using Instax Mini film so I could build what I've wanted for the last month: a WORKING LEGO CAMERA. It's got light leaks and vignetting and stuff, so I use 'working' in the looses...

How slow can 8 classic point and shoot camera shutters go?
Переглядів 6266 років тому
Classic point and shoot cameras of the 1970s and 1980s offered automation and ease of use. Auto focus. Auto exposure. Auto flash Those flash units can be aggressive. They can pop-up, charge and fire in low light situations even if you did not want them to. But some of them allowed you to engage a no-flash button. You could turn off the flash but the manuals didn't really recommend it. Now here ...

Find out more about my Instax Wide 300 modification project at theshuttergoesclick.blogspot.ca/2018/05/how-i-put-my-instax-wide-300-camera-mod.html The version of the camera in the blog post is not quite the same. Different rings were used but the concept is the same: socking a reversed lens hood over the original, albeit modified, lens barrel and then using filter rings for length. and visit a...
Fuji Instax Wide 300 camera hack mod with a vintage Schneider Kreuznach 105mm F4.5 Radionar lens

An introduction to my current camera mod project: putting a 60-year-old German lens onto a Fuji Instax camera. Fuji Instax cameras are fun but the Wide 300 has a few things I'd like to change: -I'd like to have control over the aperture and set the f stops -I'd like to focus the lens myself (I think the Instax is more or less focus free, okay it has TWO whole settings) -I'd like to control the ...
