Great video Mike, If you are in my area give me a call as I have some of the most amazing coral in Vanuatu on the island of Tanna which we protect. This quick drone video will give you an idea ua-cam.com/video/mg2Jnwuy9rI/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo Happy to talk to anyone who can do some underwater shoot for us :-) Cheers, John

Great video, but always remember to never touch the coral. Touching coral kills it and it takes years to recover.

All footage was filmed without a filter, the go-pro works best a short distance below the water surface if you go deeper say more than 2 metres you begin to lose the red spectrum and everything you film will look blue, the only way to counter this is to use a red filter,if you are diving with the go-pro this is a must. If you do not use a red filter then the only way you will get colour in your footage is to use the 4 foot rule, that is to get full colour in your photos or film footage you must be within 4 feet or closer of your subject to get colour or else it will just all look blue. The Olympus TG-2, 3 cameras which I use for most of the footage have built in compensation for the loss of red whereas the go-pros don't. The best advice I can give you if you cant get hold of a red filter is don't stress, just get as close as you can to what your filming, using a extendable pole helps heaps for getting closer but you need to watch out for camera movement as it tends to exaggerate it.I hope this helps and happy diving/snorkelling.
