I was watching an anime in Japanese so I can get used to listening and heard the word yokai so I used translate and saw the word monster, and of all the words you pointed to was the exact word, which I saved earlier into my translate app, which I hope I won’t need to use it on my trip to Japan.

Hi Terumi. I'm definitely an absolute beginner/scratch level.

I've heard different things from different people. Some learning programs (like Pimsleur) teach using kekko desu as no thank you. So that's probably one reason. I have heard some say it can be rude, cold or overly formal/antiquated. But other japanese told me it's fine as long as the tone is friendly or you add yo at the end. What about ii desu vs daijoubu desu for no thank you. ふくろはほすいですか？いいよ。

I didn't actually realize that people from Japan thought that way about us Americans. I don't feel like we are the top of anything. Actually I feel like our country is a mess right now. So even though I have never been to Japan i respect your culture. Japan has been a part of most of my life.

Your English is excellent. And your pronunciation is perfect. You should be proud of all the work you've put it to master English.

In my situation, I have excellent Japanese pronunciation because I've been singing Japanese music for years (I also get feedback from native speakers saying I sound native), but I am terrible at remembering sentence structure and not knowing enough words to express myself. So as much as I want to practice with my native Japanese friends, I don't even know where to begin. It feels frustrating not being able to remember Japanese words and I wish I just knew a good way for my brain to absorb them. I also did 3 months Japanese language school in Osaka and you were right, just learning in a classroom and a textbook is not how I learn at all.

I'm looking into a very disciplined country where I can live my whole life peacefully without any division or comparison all in the same. I'm a graduate and almost 50 and young enough to earn. If I finish up to N4, wouldn't there be any earning ways to live in Japan. I belong to Manipur, an Indian state in the North East part. Manipur is emotionally connected with Japan since many Japanese brave soldiers breathe their last in my state in the war against the British.
