Well back in high school I got an award for being the dance captain for our theater production that was pretty cool. Might have a certificate still somewhere in my drawers. Oh also I was Global Elite in CSGO! I didn’t get a trophy for that, but that was still pretty rad😤

@@Kedess445 It is set after, but all the references about what happen before are darker. For example: Piggy's animation imply he has a genuine relationship with Chang'e and was banish to Earth in pig form because he saw Jade emperor having an affair with Tai-Ying. While in the novel, he was banish because during a party he got drunk (as he always did), also first time met Chang'e and went either pervy or rapey (somewhere in between). That's the reason he got banished. A lot of the reasons for what happened changes, so the intent of what comes later became more sinister.

@@Kedess445 True but it's also not uncommon. It just happens to be the first Chinese AAA. The 2 primary novels of Chinese mythology has been done countless times in other medium. Dragonball is not the only manga that uses it, just the loosest and most well known. The other novel is the 'Investiture of the Gods' the story of how the other gods, like Erlang Shen, 4 heavenly kings etc. became gods. The best reinterpretations of that is likely the manga 'Hoshin Engi' which became an 'ancient astronaut' story where all the magic and artifacts are basically hyper-technology no different from magic.

I ended up googling here and there but like reading a guide before every chapter would benefit me greatly! I’d play more of the game and learn more about the world which I was pretty interested in. Not interested enough to research much outside of the game I suppose😅😂

Like I was lost in the story but a Chinese person would be able to appreciate the magical world of the journey to the west brought to life in a video game. I think they could have come up with a creative way to get rid of the invisible walls and keep the views, but I give you that it is a bit nit picky. I’m genially happy you loved the game!)

Ngl it was a bit hard to read but I think I get your point. Why the double standard, right? I’d stay it’s still something that didn’t align with me as a GAMER, I love when games tell a good story clearly. Maybe dark souls’ story bothered me less cause they really committed to the bit of dropping you in the middle of this world and just letting you be. In Wukong there was a stronger story line (think animations between chapters, think Bajie story line in chapter 4, think story in chapter 5). When in dark souls you had no idea about the story regardless of your background in Wukong you definitely knew more if you read the journey to the west or had background knowledge of Chinese mythology. Which is fair, but I didn’t have that knowledge so I wish they had more guidance. For the invisible walls, God Of War had way less of an emphasis on the exploration than Wukong did so it bothered me way less

Dude English is my second language so I’m no foreigner (pun intended) to broken syntax or being misunderstood. I never said the names are weird in the game, I have no idea where you are getting that from. The game was good, but these are the issues I had with it. Nothing is perfect. The invisible walls were a small thing maybe, but the fact that you can go through the entire game and not play half of it could be considered a game design flaw. In my opinion at least

@@Kedess445 The “8 triagrams seal” that Naruto’s dad uses to lock the Fox in Naruto (after the reaper death seal) is also a reference to the “8 triagram furnace” that the gods used to try to kill Wukong, because it kills immortal beings. Since Wukong is essencially every shonen character sent Back in time he obviously just became more immortal thanks to said furnace. At the point Wukong was already had 4 or 5 ways of being inmortal

Dishonest people are the ones pointing at insignificant "flaws" to put things down. What is the game that has no flaws? Maybe in the Snes era games worked perfectly, but compared to recent games BMW is insanely superior.

I was honest with my opinions so I am not sure what you are talking about. If these flaws weren’t significant for you I’m glad you enjoyed the game to the max. I liked my time with BMW, I spent 52hrs. in it😂 But these flaws took me out of the experience so this game is not GOTY lock for me like it might be for you
