@RomanicusMaximus enables Marine units to insert onto a beach in a high speed vehicle rather than landing craft which date back to before WWII. The Amphibious Assault force can be beyond the horizon with new high speed helicopters, the LCAC's, and a new amphibious assault vehicle that they were working on (I believe that was cancelled). This machinery is essential to landing troops on foreign shores with minimal casualties in modern warfare.

yeah, it is in fact. from what i understand as an aero engineering student you have to optimize the fluid dynamics of the skirt contraption to get it to run efficiently. Which is a an airplane sort of thing. Any kind of submersible craft (like submarines) is also airplane stuff.
