The Path of Freedom and Non-Reaction
You are the Self, and because of that, we take care of each other. But you don’t think about it. If you start thinking too much about others, you’re making a mistake. One day, you will realize that you are everyone else. There are no “others.” There is only the Self, appearing as others. So, how do you treat others? You treat them as you treat yourself. You don’t think, “This person deserves help, and this one doesn’t.” No. You simply give of yourself without thought, because everyone is you.
This includes the mineral kingdom, the plant kingdom, the animal kingdom, the human kingdom, and everything you don’t yet understand. Everything is part of the One. How you treat one person is how you treat the whole universe.
Now, the four principles I’ve spoken about relate to this. You’re supposed to reflect on these principles. How do you work with them? First, who can tell me what they are? (A student responds with the four principles.)
