Our December Box and What's in Our Kids Stockings 2024 This year I decided to keep our December Box and stockings pretty minimal. We have accrued lots of holiday extras throughout the years so it felt like the perfect time to keep things simple. With stockings, I tried to stick to around $20 per stocking for an 8-year-old boy, and, an 11-year-old girl. It worked out well!😊 Time Stamps: Stocking...

Thank you so much for this video! Homeschooling is getting so much better for me. All Glory to God!!
Amen, all Glory to Him! That's wonderful! I'm happy you enjoyed it. 💕
I have several books by Ruth Chou Simons. I actually met her at our Virginia Homeschool Convention this summer and she’s such an amazing speaker. She signed several of the books I bought, including that one you showed! I think you’ll love it.
Oh yay! I'm so thankful you commented. The book is absolutely beautiful, so I'm excited to dive in. From the bits I've read, I enjoyed the writing style so you've led me to look into other titles. So appreciated. 💕
Sounds great

Do you have a schedule of your weekly schedule? I loved this!
I'm happy it was helpful! This was my planning video that shared how I generally lay out our schedules. ua-cam.com/video/5q5cAUsE2sE/v-deo.html I've adjusted it some as the year has gone. 😊

This looks so sweet! I'm definitely going to check this out.
It is! Whatever helps instill a love for writing, I'm all for it. This has been a fun resource for my daughter so far. 😍
This is my first time hearing about the "creative writing made easy" curriculum and I am very interested in learning about it further for my 11-yr old daughter, who is a bit of a reluctant writer but very creative and into fashion, sewing, drawing, etc., which is why I think this might be a good fit. Would you be willing to do a review of it?
@@thelifedctr Yes, I'm hoping to do one soon but your description of your daughter is similar to mine in that my daughter loves drawing and fashion so this stood out to me and she's enjoying it quite a bit. They're creating a closet through the process so very hands on. 😊

For the child that loves workbooks have you looked into Christian Light Education? It is a great program, especially for Math and Language Arts, for children who are independent and love workbooks! 😊
Thank you, yes I have brought CLE to her attention and she didn't seem interested. It looks great and was definitely on my list.
I try to reevaluate my homeschool every year. It’s always changing especially as the kids get older! ❤ I think as parents the longer we homeschool and as we get the public school system out of our minds, we change our thinking and we have a better understanding of what true education is. But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. matthew 5:34-37
So all of those bible things do you read some of all of them or just pick like one a day? Can you tell me how that will go?
I still have to tweak my morning basket schedule, which I will share when I get there. Bible reading and Answers for kids daily, catechism and Generations History once a week. Genesis commentary 3-4 days a week is what I'm leaning towards. I'll be refining a schedule this summer. 💕
I love all your resources!! I will definitely use some of those. Studying the countries from your ancestry is such a great idea!! I love it. Where did you get that from?
The unit studies are from Thistles and Biscuits linked in the description. Ancestry is such a rich subject and I wanted the kids to understand that connection to the people that came before us. My husband and I have examined our family trees as far back as the 1700s. It's such an interesting topic.
Mam, please do homeschool room tour?
Noted! 💕
Have you read "Where the Mountain Meets the moon"
Not as of yet. It's on the list, did you enjoy it?
@ourhumbleschoolhouse no but I have the series. It is on my list too. I am wanting to wrap it into a unit study somehow.
@@greencreekheart That sounds fun!
We are reading on the banks of plum creek too! ❤
Nice! 💗
Hi Christina. How many notebooks and if you could share the purpose for each? definitely interesting to see how used.
Hi! I keep a resource binder for each kid that they can reference and my son keeps a notebook for science while my eldest has one for history. That's really it. This upcoming year we'll be notebooking a bit more and I'll be sure to share.
Love the free easy peasy practice pages in printed book!
It's been a helpful resource for us.
Hi there! Curious about your reason for liking map work?
Geography is a valuable subject for us. Understanding where we are and the world around us. We have family/friends in different countries and throughout the US so the understanding of maps and location is a skill we endorse.
“Pray every single day, all throughout the day.” Wise words We started a channel and are about to post a video about our journey in deciding. Thank you for sharing your reasons so well. God bless
Wonderful, I'll keep a look out for it. Yes prayer is what got us here and is what keeps us going. Blessings to you as well! 💕
Love the simplicity of how you’ve planned it. The highlighting the independent could be exactly some little game changer for us. Looking for way to keep it simple for them. Thanks
I'm happy it was helpful. 😊
Subscribed liked and staying tuned. Glad to hear your reasoning for the selections. God bless
The cat likes the books!
I think so. 🤗
Hi, My daughter loves the Masterbooks program too. We have tried many other programs and we keep going to Masterbooks for the ease and like ability of it. I do not have to fight with the kids to do the workbooks or read the history and do the science hands on things. They just love it. I have tried other programs because of the negative you tube reviews as well. It always ends with tears. A homeschool evaluator told me that any program is good as long as you keep 9n it because they all end up at the same place by 7th or 8th grade. So I think you are doing the right thing staying with Masterbooks , the program that is working for your daughter and you both.
Thank you so much for this. It's so encouraging to read and something I've always believed but let myself get persuaded by the naysayers in the beginning of our journey 😂 ...lesson learned. MB has always been a mainstay for us and the kids always enjoy the resources. 💗
I feel so in line with you ha ha we finished Story of Jesus' People and Banks of Plum Creek this year and we just learned about the Titanic too. I had a Japanese unit planned, but we're moving so we decided to just do Taking Asia for Jesus and spread the Japan unit throughout the year. We were planning to read about Jacob Deschazer, maybe your daughter would enjoy that too. We're also doing Without Doors and going to be learning about National Parks, so i will definitely be using that link! I love all your Titanic ideas! Amazing! Probably not for your I watched a video on survivor's reactions to the movies of the Titanic and it was really interesting to see how people remember and processed it. God bless!
Oh I love this! We are definitely in sync 😂. Your plans sound awesome. I need to look into Without Doors a bit more, I've just recently heard of it. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll check it out! 💕
Curious how you print the music study. I went online and it looks so good but I am unsure how to get it in print.
On underthehome.org you would go to what year music you want and at the top of that page there will be an icon to print the lessons. You would just need to reference the website to hear the music. Hopefully that helps. 😊
I love all the resources you use! I get such good ideas from your videos!
Wonderful, thank you! I'm happy it's helpful. 💕
LOVING all of your content!! TY for sharing! 😍😍
I'm glad, thank you for watching!
Wow you guys did so much! How did you schedule all of that?
There is a video in my playlist for 23-24 that shares how I planned the year. Planning for me helps me stay consistent.
Wow momma thanks for this video I got a lot of great ideas for next year book basket!!!❤🎉 how much time do you spend a day on the morning time? Thanks!
I'm happy you feel inspired! 💕 Morning time doesn't take too long, just depends on what we're working on. It can take 20 min or 45. It just depends on the subject matter.
Do you read all of these aloud?
Yes, they were spread across the homeschool year.
Thank you for sharing. We also enjoy using Masterbooks resources. I loved how your cat was hanging out in the video too.😻
Ha, yes, he wanted to have some screen time. 😆
Quick question? Are Masterbooks ciricula a slower paced curriculum? I have a son who is very delayed/autism/ADHD. I was wondering if I should try it. Also do you feel your daughter needs easy grammar with Learning Lang. Lessons? With the Pathway readers it seems like a lot.
Hello, Master Books is a gentle start in the younger years and picks up through the levels. MB has an app that you can download where you can ask questions regarding any concerns and connect with families in a similar situation than you. masterbooks.disciplemedia.com/groups As far as my daughter, since she is in 5th grade I wanted her to do a Mastery Grammar program for 5-6 and again in HS. I'm using it more as a supplement. The Pathway Reader was her request so I added it. She loves reading and wanted to try it. These are definitely not required LLFLE is a full LA curriculum.
