Have no idea what is your intention in this show. If you came in here to video the people of Los Angeles walking thru, then you did a good job....if your intention was to show the art...you did a terrible job.

No signs of life everything looks closed off and shut in

Forty years ago, I attended a meeting in one of these homes for our organization. Interior was very impressive, especially the kitchen. First time I ever saw oversized double doored stainless-steel refrigerators.

Hancock Park is great, but I'd rather be in the Flats.

This is all in Windsor Square, definitely not Hancock Park, which is the adjacent neighborhood. I'm quite familiar with both--different developers, periods, and architecture. Great quality videos, I like hearing the ambient sounds. The AI thumbnails are out of place--they're interesting, but are misleading, since they don't exist.

I would love to attend!

Gothic, French Normandy, Spanish Mediterranean, New England, what I love about LA architecture. That last home was probably my favorite, stunning.

The houses all look the same. Spend all this money trying to look different to just end up looking like everybody else. Modernism is no longer modern.

I went to architecture school and graduated in 1987. My question to my old school is why were such Palm Springs architects overlooked? They maybe dedicate a page or two in the books. Neutra naturally, was mentioned. But I don’t recall hearing about Krisel or Shulman. [-among so many others]. These guys were amazing. They are superhero’s, and hope kids today are studying them. I do hope that we can preserve as many of these gems as possible.

It's funny to see some of these people trying SO hard, to be impressive, and mother nature is having NONE of it! The grass, the hedges, the plantings, all, struggling to meet expectations, only to end up disappointing the homeowner, bringing him only closer to the realization, that this world's a bitch to some, no matter HOW much money you have.

I'm from Venice (over 60+ years and now pushing 80) and I have never heard anyone say that Harry Perry takes or took "Venice by storm". "The icon"??? .. as in influence or significance??? How about bohemians, beatniks, coffee houses, beat-poets, Hippies, actual artists, musicians, bikers, stoners? . I give Perry him credit for establishing himself as an annoying fixture and for being a survivor, that's for sure. Don't wanna seem arrogant, but I've always been protective of my community. The person who wrote the description (above) ain't from Venice.

Like going to a show with someone who doesn't like art, and is just trying to walk through quickly without really looking at anything. What little I could see of the art looked impressive.

Everyone has their own tastes. I love these neighborhoods.

I appreciated that visitors were allowed to traverse the pavilions that were there. I wish the rides were available, too but I understand the liability issues involved. We had the passes that required signing off on the risks involved in going into the pavilions. The artists involved all knew and understood that this was going to be the most interactive the public would ever be with their art and that wear and tear from that would be part of the process. Amazing how well it all survived!

Like the consistent roof slopes & glass. All the masonry gives the balance. I'm inspired. JIM

That was better than most backlots vids I have seen in the past. I wish you opened more door though. I know there is nothing behind those doors but I want to also see the nothingness. I was surprised how active the area was. There was no shootings, but people all over the place, walking by, moving gear, and the place was packed with parked cars.

Why did you skip the Amity Jaws set? You were so close to approaching it! That was always my favorite part of the tour! Everything else was not as interesting!

That’s so awesome. I remember him from like 20 years ago, but I noticed he’s not on skates which that’s fine. Because what is he like? Pushing 80 now bless his heart. I love him.

I was 12 in 7th grade when I walked through this beautiful neighborhood where Nat King Cole lived from my family’s 6 unit apt building off Wilshire Blvd my dad built in 1952 to go to my junior high school with Natalie Cole’s sister Carol aka Cookie. That was in 1957. If I took the bus my eyes would burn and water from all the smog in LA.

How much do home prices start here?

One of the very first houses that you passed by in this segment (at the 21 sec. mark) caught my eye and I had to do a screen capture for reference. It looks very much like the Baby Jane house which is over on McCadden, also in Hancock Park. I wouldn't be surprised if the two houses were designed by the same architect.
