    I thought POR was only to be used on severly rusted metal... I have used it in rust and will tell you, when dry sand it smooth it out. If it is left on too long (UV?) it is very hard to finish...

      Sadly because of wrecking my duramax it has been 2 years since I really looked under the hood. I think it has just 1 (no power steering). If you keep up with our channel the duramax is fixed and I plan I getting back to the Loadstar this spring.

    Will this stuff stop water leaks

    • @wrenchbenders
      @wrenchbenders 18 днів тому

      It is an epoxy coating, so I would assume it would fill small pores in metal that would leak. It sounds like your rust issue is pretty bad.

      This kit provided the I beams for this truck which is a ½ ton 2 wheel drive truck. I would suggest to check with the manufacturer and see what it available for you year and model. I know some of the heavier models may have used straight axles and if yours is 4 wheel drive that completely changes even the ability to lower the truck more than a few inches.

      The metal alone was around $600. The machining was a special deal between friends. That is not counting the studs. A project like this is not for the faint of heart.

    Does the steering wheel seek button scroll through your radio presets, or just control the tuner?

    • @wrenchbenders
      @wrenchbenders 29 днів тому

      Sorry for the delay. Due to shoulder surgery, I haven't really driven the truck in 2 months. The seek button only seeks through radio band for channels that have enough signal to play. It does not cycle presets. Honestly, I just always use android auto because of the wireless auto connect.

    Looks like not having a hinge pivot close to the edge of mower deck and blocker has a big gap when in the up position, permitting air and grass and rock and dust flow that will be in your face as you are moving forward.

    • @wrenchbenders

      Honestly, it worked great, and we never had any issues with that. We had a small lawn care business and would block the deck around flower beds, cars, other areas we did not want to through grass or take a chance at throughing rocks.
