How Does POR-15 Hold Up After 2 Years With No Paint
Переглядів 196Місяць тому
In this video I show how the POR-15 has held up being on the roof of a truck that sits out in the weather year-round for 2 years. This will need to be addressed, but considering that it is recommended to top coat I thought it did pretty good. Awesome lil hot rod brother
Ole vice grip
I mean considering its been out all year, for 2 years and you didnt primer it or uv protect it, i think its quite decent, im interested to know if you had protected it, would it have no rust? yea idk i still think por 15 is better than rust oleum
Did it last after 2 years? make a update video if it still works the por 15
I made a 2 year video on the POR 15 I put on top of the white chevy. Out in the weather for over 2 years with no paint and I show what it looks like now.
awesome stuff
If you love chevy small blocks then you will like the new project coming to the channel. The introduction video will debut in about a month.
I have a Kubota ZD18 that go forward nor backwards and the knifes won’t cut
Por qué mi tractor no camina ni para atrás ni para delante ni prende las navajas Zd18 Kubota diso
I don’t know man I bet rustoleum white would of held up better and been cheaper
It was pretty bad when I started if you go back to the older video of when I applied it. I thought it would be a good test to just leave it and see what it did. Will likely paint it soon.
The hard part is the stuff between the gasket and edge that can creep back under the easy prep surface
Where is the fixing part?
You do nice work, and all with basic tools
Thank you so very much. I want my channel to show people that even though a full professional fab shop is awesome, you can build things with simple tools and a good welder. Anyone can do it.
Do you have the part numbers for the rear on the components that you used and where to get them?
Everything is on JDM website for the kit.
Your Dad should patent that!
9;06 heeeck yeaahh
All that is weighing down a factory 2500 that is not geared properly for the extra weight being added adding adapters is not the answer you need to change the differential
The adapters came off of a factory conversation truck, and I have been towing with it having no issues. My father-in-law has a 1 ton crew cab that is stock and still heavier with the same gearing. I am not the first person to run a little bigger tire either. By your logic, I should have never added the tuner. Trust me, for a 20 year old truck, it is fine.
Why didn’t you just put fluid in the tires!
Could have done that and still might on the next set of tires. I just thought physical weights would be a good option with junk rotors laying around.
😂 there's some tools I would completely rewire and then there's grinders. Get them at harbor freight they'll break in a few weeks and then you just return them for a new one😂
That is what I said, but dad likes a challenge I guess. Lol
Is the touch screen responsive
Yes, months later, and I am still really happy with the head unit, android auto connection, and touch screen. Only down side is no volume know, but I knew that when I installed it and use the steering wheel buttons most of the time anyways.
You have a third tech. Hope you're paying him well!!
Congrats on 100 hours, and wonderful machines! I have the baby to yours a CK3520 and tons of attachments. First week I used the backhoe to lift the entire pickup bed off an old Dodge Ram, and am putting in hundreds of feet of french drains and catch basins. Best of luck and always be safe.
Yeah we using that for a while on toilets. The other day I tried it on the stainless steel counter we got in our shop and it got rid of the rust. So it dawned on me yesterday when I was using a wire wheel and various sanders on a metal hardware bin to prep for paint and I wonder if that there toilet bowl cleaner would work to get rid of that rust. So to see what other people have found out hear I am. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching.
Please let me know mine are permanently stained
Dish soap and Oxi-Clean in hot water.
When you take them off the tractor, how do you stand them up right/store them?
I open it some and set it down on the points of the grapple.
Thank you! Was trying to figure that out yesterday lol. Appreciate the videos and help
@nate5456 Thank you for watching.
Who makes there grapples
I am not sure who makes it. You are likely right that it is made be someone else and branded as Kioti. Whoever it is they did a pretty good job. Just used it yesterday.
Is there a bushing where the hinge is? Or is it just a nut and bolt?
I just bougth a loadstar water truck that is extremely hard to find. This drill truck is even more rare. Thanks for sharing.
Hey sir - where did get those wheel hub adapters you used to mount the larger wheels? I’ve been having a hard time finding OEM ones like the ones you used.
Found them on Marketplace. A guy about an hour from me was parting out an old cab and chassis truck that was an 03 model.
@@wrenchbenders understood, thanks very much! Love the truck, mine is the same color. Hoping to build it out pretty much same as yours.
Was that old cab and chassis a 3500, by any chance? None of the commercial Chevy dealers I’ve called are able to find that part 😓
It was a special model that looked like it was an old company truck., Probably an aftermarket kit done by a conversion company. They do exist, but they are hard to find.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video, I had some trouble with one of my handles not closing right and I just shot some WD 40 down the rod and into where the locking tab is and after working it a few times it works fine.
I have a Kubota B21, the swing function will swing left, but not go back to the right.... any ideas?
The wider the band especially on the exaust valve helps cool the valve up 2/3 the seat
One thing tho. Don’t work those levers from the ground! It’s not worth it buddy. The wife and kids probably like having you around in good condition!! A little mother henning there.
Hey Ben! Great job explaining things as always. That attachment looks to be one of the best I’ve seen. Heckuva work horse. It’s all about the hydraulics you have available too. Anyway I saw nobody had commented so just wanted to let ya know you’re doin a great job! These vids like this are welcome too. A day in the life kinda thing.
That before and after deal you included was freakin awesome!
Looks great buddy! Great work! For all that wanna help the channel do this. If you’re out in the garage or wherever and you just like having something in the background, just go ti the channel and hit play all and walk away. If the tv is on anyway won’t hurt a thing to give the guys some play time.
Is there a second part to this to show your next steps?
Honestly, the top of the truck has not been touched after this video. May do a review of how the POR 15 has held up over the last year or so.
@@wrenchbenders thank you
I have no idea how and when you find the time for all you and Kegan do!! You’ve come a long way and you are doing great! I can say I knew you back before you were famous! Stay safe buddy and God bless!
I stay pretty busy. Bad thing is that I do a lot of stuff off camera that will show up later on the channel.
@@wrenchbenders doin a fine job. Came a long way that’s for sure!
I’ll try to comment more to strike the algorithm.
Thank you
I need to adapt my landscape rake too, but only the top link needs to be fixed to make it QH compatible. Thanks for the ideas on how to do it. Cheers from Montana!
You need your own custom shop of some kind...good job ...
Hello, I was analyzed your YT channel and I saw that in your channel have some problems, that's why your channel is not growing. Your videos is not reaching to targeted people, not getting engagement. Do you want to know these problems? If you can give me permission I can tell here, . Where Can I tell? here or email? Anywhere I can tell if you give me permission. If you want to know, if you want to go so far with your channel. where? twitter, fb, ig etc.. where can I tell? If you want to know. As your wish, if you want, not my profit
Cool beans, thanks for the video! Could you please do an update on the return line rails? I’ve fought the return lines for the past 13 years with the 6.9’s and I’m tired of it. And I got the Bruce Dern reference lol
I have 50 hours on my DK and as of yet, it has not regened. These Dadong engines are super clean running, even the oil looks new after 50 hrs.
Mine went through its first regen at about 40 hours while I was raking hay. Just kept doing what I was doing, and it finished before I had the field done.
If you scatter that, you might as well go with Rockwells!
Have the L3240 bucket functions but quickly droops back down with gravity. Any ideas where to look?
I would think control valve leaking or cylinders need rebuilt. If the seal in the cylinders are bypassing, this will happen.
Speeco might be one to compare to. Speeco e z hitch has a direct cat1 connection with extra pins
Bought a Harbor Freight quick hitch. The hook sucks because the bolts on the hook are to far forward and make contact with the implement. Bought a hook on Amazon for $22 that has the bolts far enough back that does not interfere with the implement. It's a hook that's advertised specifically as a Harbor Freight fix. Other than the hook, it works great
I bought the hook off of Amazon as well. Working great on the back of the little tractor.
Still waiting for that load ⭐️ content lol
Coming soon
Need some guideline’s/rules and some examples of what the finished product should look like. October is coming fast!
Lawnmower drive train.
@@wrenchbenders does the body have to incorporate a wheel barrow? Length/width restrictions? Bumper height? Headlamp wattage? Reflectors? Horn? Abs?
If it's on a lawnmower doesn't it count as a lawnmower drivetrain?
Not if it was not on it from the factory.
What are them Duke boys upto now??!. I'll come on down for that
Does the 5in drop still use the factory driveshaft or does it need shortened?
If my memory serves me correctly, the axle location brackets for the kit moved the axle back slightly to allow for the stock driveshaft to be used.
@wrenchbenders right as I commented that the part where you explained it started haha. I'm about to tackle it on my 96 f150 with the djm kit and wasn't sure if I had to modify my driveshaft or not. It's an extended cab with a 2 piece unit and I already have to modify the front section for the LS and th400. If I had to modify the rear i wanted to get it in one go. The 3/4 drop I believe you do but fortunately the 3/5 fits what i want better and it's like $200 cheaper lol. Appreciate the reply man. I enjoy the content.
