Tires will make a difference also. The Michelin boppers are great road tires. Also, any weight reduction you can do will help. Keep in mind that most 50mph ruckus that is still using the 50cc engine, is most likely only hitting those speeds in perfect outdoor conditions. The carb is where the fine tuning comes in, so a performance carb can definitely make a difference.

@@RidgeRunner333 it was bogging so hard today it died 3 times in 5 miles it would take a few mins to get it cranked back up. barley got home i live at sea level i have no clue what to do. it runs fine at full throttle but sometimes when i slow down it bogs going back up.

Sounds like a carb issue.

Bogging is usually due to the air fuel ratio being off a bit. Could be contamination in the fuel line, or fuel starvation, or possibly air getting in through a bad connection or damaged boot. I know most people run the 78 main jetafter adding intake and exhaust. I in an aftermarket carb and I use a 105 main jet.

Intake, exhaust, and carb tuning is where most your gains will come from after a cdi box in my opinion. This bike could probably hit around 56 mph with heavier slider weight. It takes off fast though and climbs hills at around 42mph. It’s all about finding that happy medium.

@RidgeRunner333 yeah I need to figure out what this bike likes. Don't wanna get into rejetting but seems like that what I gotta do. Do you have a full list of what you used by chance?

If you add intake, or exhaust, you will need a larger size main jet to increase the fuel flow for the increased air flow. Taking the carb apart can look intimidating, but it’s actually quite simple. Just screw’s. Your sea level elevation will be another key factor for precise tuning. I actually replaced the carb with an aftermarket performance carb, and I run a 105 size main jet.

I would argue that the DR200 is the best all around motorcycle for its simplicity, reliability, and durability.

@@RidgeRunner333 agree, I own a 2015 one, it has no common factory issues (like the KLR650) and it can cruise at 55 no problem while being as simple as a lawnmower, never had so much fun.
