0:34 pretty uncalled for you found out ian k!lled himself and you insult him oof
because it’s selfish
@@mattshu what is
Natural shock reaction
This is an extremely normal reaction, especially since those close to them are victims of suicide as well.
@@cristobalradio them?? And no it’s not a normal reaction when someone dies by that manner. At least not on our planet called earth. But wherever you come from idk, that’s very fascinating that you think that.
his name is Dr.Begemann a Psychologist he still dresses up his own way
Electroshock Therapie causes epilepsy he his alive
Why do we always ask are you joking
You're on such a state of disbelief, that you're desperately trying to find a way to not have to accept what you've just been told.
His reaction was so real, i thought it was a real recording, not a film.
Is he ok?!?
The guy who died? I think he's ok.
"That stupid bloody bugger"
Listen "el fantasma de Ian Curtis" of hermana sol band ... a song tribute...from punta alta argentine.ua-cam.com/video/0gNXUa8H2BE/v-deo.html
sadness
This scene has stuck with me since I saw this movie back in the day. Haunting shit.
"you're joking" "no, I'm sorry"
One thing that bugged me about this scene is that love will tear us apart didn’t release until months after Ian’s death
Indeed. They might've gotten away with it if they hadn't included that silly town crier-on-tv scene.
That's was factory records for you though wasn't it absolutely didn't know their arse from their elbow.
holy shit, not their biggest fan but that's mad
.. 1 month dude not months one month
The song had been performed live several times.
I remember this when Tony Wilson said Ian Curtis is dead on granada tonight , I was 10 at the time .
“I think the best way to tell the story is by starting at the end, briefly, then going back to the beginning, and then periodically returning to the end, maybe giving different characters' perspectives throughout. Just to give it a bit of dynamism, otherwise it's just sort of a linear story.”

@@TSwizzle777 who are they?
@@igotdarkaether4813 it's a movie. "The other guys" It's a comedy. Funny.
@@TSwizzle777 oh ok so it basically has nothing to do with this video then
what did she say to tony?
Great movie. Great Coogan. Ian the great. This feels like yesterday.
In Uxbridge, west London, England 🏴 there was a graffiti sprayed guitar with the words The Ruts on the Pavilions car park wall,The Ruts were a punk band from the area. Malcolm Owen the lead vocalist also died, but from a drug overdose ironically the same year as Ian Curtis in 1980 in he's parents house in Hayes, west London, England 🏴,Ian also tragically died at home. Ian and Malcolm both tragically died before they made it big. RIP Ian and Malcolm.
He really was great in this. A sad moment handled well.
What is this movie??
24 hr party people
7-11 convenience store people
Alan Partridge attempting to act sad. Funny !
0:52 I burst out laughing. What is he? Crazy
town shouter
A town cryer
I know he announcing Ian's death in that fashion was werid, I wonder if that actually happened or they put it in the storyline to make it hilarious which it is
@@ShazlovesmusicYT I don't think it really happened. Michael Winterbottom said he didn't want to glorify suicide, or to make a hagiography of anyone, so deliberately tried to make Ian's death seem like a pointless mess.
@@neonatalpenguin Hi It did take place , I have met the town crier , through a mutual friend and he has written the actual words he said on the day , not what he says on the film , he practices fine writing calligraphy I have a original document signed on my wall ,,, he said he’s music was Dylan ,,, very humble man down to earth , the footage from the film is the town Tony was filming in , he is still the town crier ,,, God save the queen

Someone PLEASE make a film where Tony Curtis visits the Hacienda.

FINALLY! many years ago (over 10) I watched this movie on tv and loved it but didn't remember the name. Been looking for a long time now I know it's 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE Thank you so fucking much for uploading this
I always thought the poster for this film didn’t do the film it credit, and would’ve been seen by more people had it been more of its time, and less of a generic best rave hits 90s album cover. Or am I seeing a US only cover?
I'd recommend watching 'Control' - it's not quite the same as this stylistically and it focuses on Joy Division and Ian Curtis more but it's certainly worth it
@@jamesdereybekill755 watched it this weekend- absolutely beautiful film and such showed such respect to his story. Also disturbed me deeply.
:(
Love this movie.
Omgirrl what is it called?
"24 Hour Party People".
Ian die today, I died yesterday.
LOL WUT I could be next.
I just might die tomorrow.
RIP bro.
Someone years ago in Wellington had paint the words "Ian Curtis Lives" on a wall.
Wellington in Telford ? Which wall ?
Wellington New Zealand.
Ian Curtis it's still there, along with a mural of the man. The original grafitti was applied just a few weeks after his death. It has now slightly changed location and now says "Ian Curtis RIP". It was painted over several times but was always reapplied by people of Wellington- it has now become a part of the cities culture and will not be removed by city authorities anymore. i think it's a cool little piece of Wellington culture, that this resilience has been taken up by successive generations who wish to see him honoured, even though many now will not have been born at the time of his death, or may not even know that he was of Joy Division. Though I assure you that everyone here knows at least "Love Will Tear Us Apart"- it's prolific here at the bottom of the world.
I know what you mean, recently I went to my local RSL Club in Sydney ( equivilant to RSA in NZ) ordering a drink at the bar with my membership card. The young barman probably early twenties noticed my name and commented, I thought wow. Also a couple of years ago I was giving my information to a market researcher over the phone & she commented that I have same name as the lead singer from Joy Division Her favourite band. Cult status.
That's very cool. Didn't expect your name to actually be Ian Curtis, how neat. Have a good one :)
Awesome!
WOW! I'm speechless.
