Josie O / The Josie Girl - Banjo Lesson - Miles Zurawell
Josie O / The Josie Girl, from source Charlie Acuff and made popular by Art Stamper (thanks for those details, @JosephDecosimo !). Here's a Scruggs style arrangement and demonstration of the tune. It lays out really well and is fun to improvise with in a 3-finger/Scruggs style. Shoot, I may have to put this on an album one day.

Head on over to www.Patreon.com/mileszurawell for this FREE lesson in its entirety, tablature,...

Road to Columbus was first recorded on Kenny Baker Plays Bill Monroe, and has become a jam standard across the bluegrass world. Full video lesson, including tablature and mp3 backing tracks: www.patreon.com/mileszurawell Arranged by Miles Zurawell @mileszurawell A really easy chord progression but great bluesy runs define the tune, and I've tried to transcribe Kenny Baker's fiddling onto the do...

As a learning lap steel player, Mike is just a legend, love his rendition of Panhandle Rag.
What's the make of the dobro?

This made my day. Great choice.
Right in the pocket, brother. Nice.
You are making that banjo sing. Excellent.
This is great. Keep that stern mien.
I'm unable to both concentrate and show mirth, so I'll always have solemn visage
Awesome Miles! Loved the album. I have a feeling you better find a good house in Nashville buddy. They won't let you leave.
Thanks @Scottjudd7675, I'm glad you enjoyed the album!
Have you heard the andy hall version based on the sierra hull version?
I haven't seen that version around, no!
Gotta learn this one!
hints of sitar here and there
There is a similar instrument that was developed and mastered by Debashish Bhattacharya that is somewhat a cross between slide guitar and sitar. He dubbed it Hindustani slide guitar. Check him out!
Well played, brings back memories thx for that✌️
Love this
Miles, SMILE!
