Iceland South Coast 6 days September 2023 part 2of2
The Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus) is a large flamingo native to much of the old world, it is the largest of the six extant flamingo species and the only flamingo species native to Europe and also one of the few flamingo species tolerate the colder habitats, it is also the only extant species of the genus Phoenicocolor and its closest living relative is the Lesser Flamingo (Phoeniconaias minor), there are six known subspecies of greater flamingo: the European Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus roseus), the Northwest African Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus barbarus), the Northeast African Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus aegyptiacus), the South African Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus zambesiensis), the West Asian Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus caucasicus), and the Indian Greater Flamingo (Phoenicocolor roseus indicus).
Love the ending.
Thanks. I'm not sure what I expected before we went, but I was amazed by the diversity and it's unique beauty.
Great footage, we just left Iceland on 10/11/2023. We saw a bunch of the same places in mostly the same kind of weather.
Is this S1k?
A little bit of fooling around. The bike records heaps of data. You can export some of that. The rest of the data comes from the Racechrono app. Overlay that data onto the video using Racerender.
Nice footage, how'd you get those overlays?

Awesome, what hardware are you using for the telemetry? I guess M1 Laptrigger, but it's a ridiculous $1600+?
Yes, to both questions. There's speculation on OBD2 units, but I couldn't find anything that actually works for this model. The official laptrigger does give you the live delta which is useful.
I’ve got the same bike as you and it looks like we ride in the same group - can I ask which OBD2 device you are using for the RPM/throttle/brake etc?
Yes, same bike and similar times. I had a good look on the forum and there's a few people who think it is possible to extract the info using a 3rd party OBD2 unit, but I couldn't find anything that was 100% working. So I went the official BMW Lap trigger from 2D (through the dealer at St Peters who were great). You cant get all the info that it actually logs, so I still get the info you already have using the GPS device as well. If you have a look at one of my other videos from the South circuit you can see that it enables the lap times and live delta on the dash. Also there is all the data that can be looked at after on the PC and the 2D software, normal telemetry stuff
@@gofffred1703 Ok, thanks heaps. I was hoping there was a cheap Bluetooth dongle I wasn’t aware of which would integrate with RaceChrono. I now set my dash to the Sport screen which shows lean angle, traction and braking on the TFT and the GoPro picks this up pretty well, so I’ll probably just stick with that. Might see you out there sometime. My next day is next Monday (19th) and the weather is looking great.
About 6 seconds quicker - that is quite abit. The tacho appears to take off quickly from around 6500 rpm. I am guessing the bike must have a plenty of torque in the mid range. Nice machine.
Cheers Peter, a lot of the time was due to changing to slick tyres, big difference (mentally at least). The bike would go a lot better if someone else's right hand was attached to it. It has heaps of torque and nice delivery. The new ones have more of course! and they spin up quicker as well. One day?
Nice work - what bike you riding ? have you done any mods to the bike ?
+Peter 140 Its an Aprilia RSV4, beautiful bike no mods required. Have a look at this one, a bit quicker ua-cam.com/video/Uu6J01dr4E8/v-deo.html The bike would be capable of a lot more if it was for the rider slowing it down!
thanks mate , it's awesome
what program are you using to log all your data and map position ?
+Rob G we use Racechrono for android (on a phone) which is bluetoothed to a bluetooth QStarz GPS receiver. You can then export the GPS info into Racerender PC software to get it as an overlay. Then combine the video together. A fair bit of p@$$ing about but gives the final video a bit better perspective if you dont know the track?
i love your camera set up, what are you using?
the camera is just a gopro. the mount is a RAM steering head stem mount. then the GPS info overlaid using blender. a bit of fooling around, but gives a better idea of the track?
Can I ask what your using to capture the GPS data? Looks great!
Yes the software is Racechrono for Android and a QStarz GPS receiver blue-toothed to an old phone. Racechrono is great but the GPS on a phone is fairly vague. Or if you have the cash you could simply just get an all in one unit from Race chrono?
Very decent riding. It wasnt the best track conditions either. Well done. Nice vid.
