Its a good place to work depending on the region. My experience with MARTIN BROWER in Louisiana was awful. A racist black employee lied just to get me fired. I should have known better. I was the only white guy there. Southern hospitality? More like southern hostility.
Trash company treated their drivers like 💩favoritism was done right in your face, open door policy only to those the management seen fit to go through the doors, union out of harriman ny is a 😂 they get paid under the table by the company to turn a blind eye while they collect your dues.
I used to cry in the parking lot cause i had to go back in there to feed my family for 22 an hour it was hard 6 days a week 12 hour shifts my girl left me at lunch time i never went back into that building greatest decision i ever made now i make double that and only work 35 hours a week new girl and full custody of my daughter

There is no incentive system since they already start you off at $24 an hour well at least the one in Stockton, CA then after getting hired on you get a $4 raise

This dude followed a script because this all a crock of shit. This is the worst job I've ever had. When I was supposed to be trained, I was told to sweep. When I was told to go to night shift, I begged for training, I got none at all. Then they were surprised when I didn't satisfy my numbers. Also, my first day, I was insulted for having Asperger's. They lure you in with **Oooh! 21.25 an hour**. The fine print isn't explained until you're in the shit of it. They want you to give them your all, cancel every family time you have. The only thing the guy was right about was "sometimes we get here 2 or 3 hours early to see our family here''. Cause your coworkers, whom you can't talk to without being written up, is your only family when your family leaves you cause you put them before your work. I was 18 at the time, so I had extremely better opportunities out there. I am now 20, in my last year at University Of Central Florida, majoring in Finance, and going to get a paid internship with J.P. Morgan, that is 6 figures out of college. If I had stayed at Martin Brower, I would still be a low level garbage selector with my soul locked up in some douchebag's office. 0/10! STAY OUT OF THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS AND BE INTELLIGENT!
They mention the word "family" at Martin Brower. When I worked for Golden State Foods in Lexington, SC which eventually became Martin Brower, on my first day they said "Here, we are family!" What I came to realize is that they meant The Manson Family.
Their circle meeting is literally a circle jerk that they praise the Golden Arch.

Terrible company to work for. The supervisors are always up your ass, they hound you for even making 1 mispick, they expect you to keep the same pack for 7-9 hours a day, you only get two 20 minute breaks and no lunch, and they fired me when I was just two weeks away from the end of my 90 day probation, they claim I had too many mispicks. Fuck Martin Brower. Steer clear from this corrupted sh1thole of a company.

It's just a drop and go type delivery
a lot of deliveries are "key drops" where nobody in restaurant but the driver, at those stops, we put everything away.

This guy is a lead man and they have him pulling cases? That would not go over well in our neck of the woods.
I was a lead. Sometimes I did go out and pick since it was a choice and not a requirement. Plus your coworkers would like to know you didn’t forget where you came from

I talk to Brower drivers at least twice a week. Their #1 complaint, aside from their supervisor? The warehouses. The WMS (warehouse management system) employed by Brower is supposed to be so accurate that stores don't need to manually check in items - this couldn't be farther from the truth. My store continues to check in items manually to avoid hundreds of dollars of losses per week. I've seen pallets go missing and wind up three states over for no apparent reason. In fact, the driver has opened the trailer and found pallets wrapped in such a way that it becomes dangerous to move off the trailer or unwrap (vertically stacked narrow cases or heavy items on top or on one side, etc.) They've even loaded pallets into the trailer straps, damaging or destroying product...Sometimes they supply the driver with defective pallet jacks... The list goes on. Our personal favorite? When Brower decides to change delivery dates and times whether the store can accept deliveries then or not. When the job gets done right, this company can be a godsend. When something goes wrong, things can turn into a headache real quick.
I remember some of our loaders would literally stack individual cases of all sizes right of to the trailer door, due to an "add-on" of 50 or so cases. Pity the driver when he opens those trailer doors as it will fall down like loose firewood!

tyrone jamel depends on the cost of living in the area where the distribution center is located. On average, over $20/hour as a driver and $17/hour for a warehouse case selector. These are starting wages which increase every 6 months
Pay is over 20/hr, but, if you value that over your family, that's for you. If you want someone else, the neighbor, to fuck your wife, then this is for you.

I've been working in the Vancouver DC for 7 years and even worked in the Brisbane Australia DC. I will honestly tell you that Martin Brower does not care for its employees. And the work atmosphere caters to a bunch of self serving snakes who use and abuse people. All the long term employees have suffered severe injuries and have needed surgery. They destroy people and it is a sick and toxic work environment. If you work for this Corporate slave driver and you feel you have been wronged by this company I urge you to speak up and say something.

You must pick maybe 1000 boxes per day. You need to pick boxes around 8-10 hours a day when you are new. And you have engineering standard and sometimes you don't have time to rest yourself. Some boxes are heavy, especially fries boxes (40lbs), milk, Coke, hash-browns, etc. That you need to work in the freezer where the temperature is around -20. Every month, it was an accident or incident in the freezer. If the rack was bad or hit, they had a very simple solution: put a caution tape around. Sometimes took 4 months until they finally dressed the situation. The salary is good (around 30CAD in Vancouver), but the work conditions are not very good. Maybe some warehouses are better than others, but I don't expect to be a big difference. And I don't expect that working like a warehouse-man for 20 years, to be called a career. I expect to have a career when you are growing, develop yourself like a human being. Picking boxes 8-10 hours a day doesn't really look to develop your personality. Maybe your muscle, eventually. What means to be a lead in this company? Means to replace the supervisor from time to time, but the rest of the time you work in warehouse picking boxes or receiving/ loading. That don't have different positions / functions in the company: receiver, loader, picker. Everyone is the warehouse-man and need to make the same job repetitively. Doing this job for 20 years?? FML, nooo!!!
